Super Kid: The Big Day!

Today was game day!  I was pumped so I woke up early.  I hung out at my hotel till 12:30 pm then we ate lunch and got on the bus going to the stadium.  When we got there, we met the Nickelodeon film crew.  We walked out to the sideline and watched the players doing warm-ups. Then I heard Queen Latifah singing “America the Beautiful.”  Once the coin toss was finished, I ran the game ball to the referee. Then I walked to my seats and watched the game.

Super Kid: Pregame Practice

This morning I had an interview on The Weather Channel at the Play 60 field.  Later in the day, I had an interview with Fox Edge at the Fox News Headquarters.  I had a break, and then I went to MetLife Stadium, where I practiced handing the ball to the referee.  They were practicing the coin toss and they needed more people, so I volunteered to be Wes Welker, one of the Broncos’ Team Captains.  I can’t wait for the game to start!

Nine year-old Pittsburgh Steelers fan Thomas Brown was chosen as this year’s NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid!  On February 2, Thomas gets to run on the field and hand the game ball to a game official moments before kickoff of Super Bowl XLVIII. SUPER cool, huh?

Thomas is a competitive swimmer who specializes in the backstroke, and a Cub Scout who enjoys surfing.   In his contest essay, he suggested healthy-eating tips for Troy Polamalu and his teammates, writing “I would tell them to eat healthy foods that are not artificial.  Eat veggies, lots of protein to build muscles, and stay away from junk food.  It will also make your hair shinier, especially Troy.  I think they should do this because I tried it and it has made me a better player on the field and a better student in the classroom.”

Thomas and his family traveled to Pittsburgh for a special surprise dinner with Polamalu and was treated to a tour of the Steelers facility, where he spent time with Steelers president Art Rooney II and players Heath Miller and Maurkice Pouncey.

Congratulations to Thomas Brown, the NFL PLAY 60 Super Kid for 2013-14!

Super Kid: Toboggan Run!

Today I woke up at 4:30 in the morning to get ready for my live interview with Fox and Friends.  After the interview, I went back to my room and ate breakfast.  I got to be the first kid to go on the Toboggan Run, and I raced against Jets player Quinton Coples, my brother, and my dad.  Next, I went to the Play 60 field and got to run the obstacle course.  They gave me a giant, oversized football trading card of me!  After that, I got to see the Vince Lombardi trop

After lunch, I went back to Super Bowl Boulevard to be filmed by Nickelodeon.  Then I took a taxi to visit Commissioner Goodell at the NFL Headquarters.  He gave me a Play 60 jersey with my name on it and four Super Bowl tickets so that my whole family could see the game!  Then I got to see the Super Bowl roman numerals lit up.  What a day!

Super Kid: NFL Network Fun!

Today I had an interview on the NFL Network.  I interviewed Ike Taylor, cornerback for the Steelers, on the NFL AM show.  After that I met Jerry Rice and Joe Montana in the building.  Joe Montana is the #1 quarterback of all time and has 4 super bowl rings.  Also Jerry Rice is the #1 wide receiver of all time who has three super bowl rings and played with Joe Montana on the 49ers.  After the interview we went to MetLife stadium and took a tour of the place.  I got t

After the interview we went to MetLife stadium and took a tour of the place.  I got to see where the Broncos offensive coordinator will sit during the game.  My favorite part of the tour was seeing the Broncos locker room.  I also enjoyed walking on the field.

I got filmed by NFL Films while I was there.  It was an awesome day.

Super Kid: Fun at Media Day

Today I went to Media Day.  On the way there, I saw the skyscrapers of New York City.  When I first arrived, I saw Terrell Davis and Michael Irvin of the NFL Network.  They are nice people.  I joined up with some camera crews and started my interviews with the Broncos.  I got to talk to Demaryius Thomas, Coach John Fox, Champ Bailey, Eric Decker, and even Peyton Manning.  The Broncos are awesome!  I even got some advice from legendary running back Marshall Faul

At lunch, I got to talk to Defensive End Brett Keisel, who I first met in Pittsburgh during my tour of the Steelers facility.  He wanted to know if anyone else’s favorite animal is the grizzly bear.  No, he is the only one, but a lot of players seem to like dogs, not zebras (my favorite animal) :( .  Then I interviewed the Seahawks.  I asked questions like what is your favorite animal and for advice on handing the game ball to the ref.  I spoke with Percy Harvin, Russell Wilson, Coach Pete Carroll, Max Unger, Earl Thomas, and Richard Sherman.  My favorite person to interview from both teams was Mr. Sherman.

Tomorrow, I will be at the opening of the Super Bowl Boulevard.  I am looking forward to the toboggan run!
