Poll: What American Revolutionary figure would you choose?

July 4, 1776. Boston.

In a major upset, the United States of America Patriots beat the British Redcoats to win their own country.

Led by QB George Washington, the Patriots came together as a team to stun the heavily favored Redcoats.

Offensive coordinator Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the American playbook, called a great game.

RB Paul Revere was unstoppable, seemingly able to know where the British were coming from and finding open holes at will.

WR Patrick Henry not only caught every pass thrown his way, but was the vocal leader of the team as well, telling his teammates to "give me the ball, or give me death."

On the defensive side, Patriots LB James Madison was a force for which the Redcoats had no answer. Plus his wife Dolly made great cupcakes for the team to enjoy after the game.

Said Patriots head coach Benjamin Franklin, "We simply outplayed the Redcoats on both offense and defense, and kicked their butts."

Redcoats WR Benedict Arnold, who formerly played for the Patriots, was held to no catches.

Poll. Can the 49ers win the Super Bowl this year?

December 23, 2013. San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree makes a fantastic catch against Atlanta Falcons cornerback Robert McClain during a Monday night game.

The 49er won the game 34-24.

NFL RUSH: What is your favorite Father's Day memory you have of your son?

Leon Ridley: Simply the fact that he always seems to do whatever possible to be there, even if he has to travel great lengths to do so. It doesn't what we do or what is said, just being there is enough.

NFL RUSH: What is one football memory you have of your son, either from youth football or the NFL?

Leon Ridley: Thinking of Stevan my fondest memory is from when he was playing Pop Warner and he lumbered down the sideline on run of more than 40 yards! Why was it so special? He was too big to play running back in the youth league, so we put him at tight end for one play and the result was and is history! I'm still smiling and Stevan is still running! Thanks for allowing me to smile!

NFL RUSH: What is the nicest thing your son ever did for you?

Leon Ridley: That's a tough one, and not because he hasn't done plenty of wonderful things. I would have to say that it was and continues to be just being a loving, caring, and thoughtful son. That is just who he is, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

NFL RUSH: What is your favorite Father's Day memory you have of your son?

Frank Cushing: I can't recall exactly how old he was, but it was when I took him to a Yankees game one year. It was just good ole' 'father and son bonding', and it gave us a great opportunity to get to know each other better, while talking about his future goals in sports.

  • NFL RUSH: What is one football memory you have of your son, either from youth football or the NFL?

Frank Cushing: There are a lot, but one that really stands out because of what an unbelievable play it was (and how much it surprised everybody but him and I) was when he was playing against Notre Dame at the Coliseum his Junior Year at USC, and ND was attempting an onside kick. Brian, a true all-around athlete, was on the hands team, and on the ball's second bounce, Brian picked it up and ran it down the sidelines for a game-clinching touchdown. He was untouched until about the 5 yard line, when a ND player jumped on his back to try to tackle him, while Brian proceeded to carry him (into the endzone) for those 5 yards.

  • NFL RUSH: What is the nicest thing your son ever did for you?

Frank Cushing: I can't just say one thing specifically, but just in general he's made us (my wife, Antoinette, and I) very proud of him. I mean, just watching him go through the process of sitting back and watching him work so hard to accomplish what he always said he was going to do ever since he was a little kid; more or less. When he was in 2nd grade he told his teacher that he was going to attend Bergan Catholic HS (he did), Notre Dame (he was offered), and the Dallas Cowboys. One of my favorite stories that really exemplifies Brian's mentality from a young age, was when he was in about 7th grade, I sat him down and explained to him that it was imperative to get a college scholarship, to which he responded by saying, "Oh, I 100% will, you don't have to worry about that. Just one question though, what does 'imperative' mean?"

Father’s Day is Sunday! Ask him to throw the football with you, or go for a bike ride. Clean up your room or go get the newspaper without being asked. Your dad may be tough, but it’s because he loves you, and Sunday’s your day to say thank you.

Speaking of great dads, we got the chance to speak with Cleveland Browns star RB Ben Tate’s dad Ben (Ben Tate II) about what it was like raising a future NFL star.

Thank you, Ben Tate II, and have a terrific Father’s Day!

NFL RUSH: What is your favorite Father's Day memory you have of your son?

Ben Tate II: I would have to say it was my first one. I just remember how great it felt to look at him (he was about 10 months old) and see how much he had grown since being born. You know, just to look at him and understand that this is 50% of you is a pretty unbelievable feeling.

NFL RUSH: What is one football memory you have of your son, either from youth football or the NFL?

Ben Tate II: I wish I could remember which game it was and who the player was, but I just recall being at a game his freshman year and having people come up to me after the game telling me that he was the "back of the future at Running Back U" (Auburn), in part because he had one run where he made a great move on the other team's star senior player. I expected him to have success after watching him work so hard growing up and having the success that he did, but having played RB in college myself (North Carolina Central), I knew that nothing was guaranteed, and that SEC football was a different beast. I was actually drafted (to the Lions) in the 11th round (#287 overall) of the 1983 draft, but I got hurt during the preseason and never made it, so watching Ben make it has truly been rewarding.

NFL RUSH: What is the nicest thing your son ever did for you?

Ben Tate II: It was pretty simple, but it was when he was giving his acceptance speech for The Watkins Award (for athletics/academic excellence) in High School. He talked about how he used to think I was too hard on him, but how he was beginning to realize that I was that way for a reason, and that has had a lot to do with his success.

Poll. Will the Dolphins make the playoffs this year?

September 30, 2013. Miami Dolphins TE Charles Clay makes a sweet one-handed grab for a touchdown in front of New Orleans Saints CB Chris Carr.

The Saints went on to win this Monday night match-up, 38-17.

Poll. Which of these second season stars has the brightest future?

Everyone's talking about the new kids on the block -- you know, the recently drafted rookies -- but do not forget about last year's crop of talented running backs.

Eddie Lacy - Giovani Bernard - Le'Veon Bell - Andre Ellington

These second year players are likely to improve on their impressive debuts, which means they are all well on their way to helping carry their teams to playoff success and themselves to fantasy stardom.

Poll. Which team has the best fans in the league?

When it comes to choosing the best fans in the NFL, you have to decide what are the qualities that make a good fan.

Is it sheer volume of their cheering? It’s widely regarded that the Chiefs and the Seahawks have the loudest stadiums.

Perhaps it’s the perseverance of overcoming awful weather to support their team? There’s a reason why they call Lambeau Field the "Frozen Tundra."

How do you not reward fans that show up week after week, year after year, regardless of their team’s won/loss record? Here's to you, Dawg Pound.

And don’t even get us started on Oakland Raider fans. We’re not sure what category to put them in, but we know they bring a unique form of… passion?

Let us know what you think. Vote in the poll below and make sure to leave a comment telling us why you think a certain team’s fans deserve to be called the best.

Poll. How will Eric Ebron do in the NFL?

Detroit rookie TE Eric Ebron is yet another big, talented, pass catching weapon for the Lions offense.

As if opposing defenses didn’t already have their hands full trying to keep the Lions in check.

Ebron looks destined to be one of the top rookie fantasy performers, but how much do you know about him?

5 Fun Facts about Eric Ebron:

1.  He was born on April 10th, 1993, in Newark, New Jersey.

2. Eric attended Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. He played both tight end and defensive end. He had 28 receptions for 682 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense and 68 tackles and 13.5 sacks on defense.

3. Last season at the University of North Carolina, Ebron caught 62 passes for 973 yards and 3 TDs, and was a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection. He was also chosen as a finalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation's top tight end.

4. On the night before the NFL Draft, Ebron proposed to his girlfriend Brittany Rountree on the top of the Empire State Building. Rountree plays guard for the UNC women’s basketball team and she said yes!

5. Eric will wear number 85 for the Lions, the same number he wore at UNC.

Cincinnati Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict expresses his excitement to face Cleveland Browns rookie QB  Johnny Manziel, and says who he thinks is the best LB in the NFL.

Do you agree?

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has been named the 58th-best player in the NFL, in the NFL Network countdown of the top 100 players of 2013.

At 58th he is ranked ahead of such notable NFL quarterbacks as Colin Kaepernick and Tony Romo.

NFL experts Willie McGinestDave Dameshek, and Michael Silver debate whether his performance in 2013 merits where he is ranked.

What do you think?

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was voted the 52nd-best player in the NFL by his peers on "Top 100 Players of 2014."

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis was voted the 51st-best player in the NFL by his peers on "Top 100 Players of 2014."
