I still can't believe how fast this year is going, already talking Playoffs and it feels like the season just started. Since I am a Charger fan I don't think we will make the Playoffs, we would have to win the remaining games which include one in Denver and two games against the division leader Kansas City. So, I do believe that both Kansas City and Denver make the playoffs, with Denver winning the division and then winning the AFC and representing them in the Super Bowl.
In the NFC I am thinking that Seattle represents in the Super Bowl. I love Pete Carroll as a coach because I am a USC fan too and think he has really turned things around up in Seattle. I also think he will win the Super Bowl in a close game over the Broncos.
That is what I think will happen but on any given day who really knows. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I can't believe Week 9 is upon us...man this season is going too fast. I am going to have to say that the AFC West is now one of the toughest divisions. I am not even sure who wins the division. Denver, Kansas City and San Diego are all in the running, and they would all make the playoffs if the season ended today. Because the Chargers are my team, I really want them to go undefeated the rest of the way and win the division, but think there toughest game will be on a cold Thursday in December in Denver. I also look forward to playing the Chiefs.
Hoping that everyone has a great weekend and enjoy Week 9..Go Bolts kid reported Kody signing out.
I watched the whole Chargers vs Raiders game last Sunday night, because the Chargers are my team, and I paid the price at school on Monday. So I think that is not a good time slot for the NFL. It would have to always be played on the west coast because it would be too late to start a game in any other time zone, fans and players from east teams wouldn't want to be starting a game at 11:30.
I also think I didn't like it because the Chargers lost and I hate to lose to the Raiders. I do like the pink that players, coaches and the refs wear but glad that the pink flags will not be used in the rest of the October games and sometimes I thought there was a flag and it was someones towel.
This season is going way too fast can't believe the half way point is almost here. I will be at the Monday Night game screaming for my Chargers to beat the Colts. Kid Reporter Kody signing off for now.
There are always the same quarterbacks that you can trust with the game on the line such as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. However, I am going out of the box and picking Joe Flacco of the Ravens. This past year he has kept his cool in some of the most stressful times. The playoff game in Denver was something special and moved him into the likes of Brady and Manning. And of course at the Super Bowl, with the lights going out and the 49ers making a comeback, he never seemed rattled. He was a true leader and I would trust him to make those big plays to win the game.
Hope everyone has a good week. Not much longer until the season starts!
The team that I think improved their quarterback situation the most this off season would be the Arizona Cardinals. The recent pick up of Carson Palmer will be great for them. In order to be successful, they will need to get him some offensive line protection, something that he also didn't have in Oakland. They will have a tough time though because the NFC West is a very tough division with San Francisco and Seattle.
I can't wait for the draft and the start of the season!
Well it's that time of year when all college seniors and draft eligible head to Indianapolis for the yearly NFL combine. I will be watching to see how the quarterbacks perform, as there are about 6-8 teams I believe need a quarterback.
The top 3, in my eyes are:
1. Geno Smith of West Virginia: He has some speed in those feet, and accurate arm. His down side could be his size, listed at 6'3" not sure how accurate that is, but we will find out on his official measurement. I think he will be very good in the NFL and think he definitely could be the first QB taken.
2. Matt Barkley of USC: He of course is one of my favorites, being a USC fan, and respect him for staying for his senior year. He will not be throwing at the combine because of of a shoulder injury, but am sure he will throw on the USC pro day. He handles the pressure well, he's intelligent but at times his passes are a bit inaccurate. He could definitely be a first round pick, I would love him to land with my Chargers.
3. Landry Jones of Oklahoma: Has good size, a strong accurate arm. His down side is he sometimes has trouble winning the "big" games, hopefully that could turn around in the NFL.
But like any quarterback if your O-line is top notch you will have a good quarterback. Here's to an outstanding Combine and wishing everyone luck.
We already have a first for this year Super Bowl...brother vs brother and I do believe it will be an exciting game. Wonder who their mom and dad will be cheering for?
I am hoping the Ravens win because with it being Ray Lewis last game, I think it is there destiny. The divisional game that they played at Denver was unbelievable and that was the beginning that they believe. And the way they pretty much handled New England they were ready!!!
The 49ers will be tough, will look forward to that Raven defense putting pressure on the rookie QB, Kaepernick but he has been fun to watch and would be my vote to Rookie of the Year.
Here's to a well played exciting game on February 3rd.

I can't believe the playoffs are creeping up...although my Chargers aren't 100% out of the Wild Card race, I don't think they will be playing in January :( With the exception of the Denver Broncos, I think the rest of the AFC West is out.
The teams that are in: New England, and they are sure looking good, after taking apart another team that is the Houston Texans. The AFC North is kind of up for grabs...Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cincinnati can all be in
In the NFC, the Falcons are definitely in, and the Packers are looking good and they will be in too. Definitely not ins for the NFC: Carolina, Arizona and Philadelphia.
I am looking forward to the playoffs and Super Bowl, but I think this year had gone way too fast! Good luck to all the teams this weekend -- I will be at The Q cheering on my beloved Chargers. I am excited to see Cam Newton play!

Hi NFL Rushers ... I hope everyone had a winning Week 2!
If I were lucky enough to play in the NFL, my dream position would be linebacker. I LOVE defense -- you know that old saying, "Offense wins games, but defense wins championships."
I especially like the linebacker position because you can do it all: tackle the runner, get in on some quarterback sacks and fumbles, and then you can intercept any short passes.

Week 1 is now in the books and I am very happy with the way the San Diego Chargers handled the Raiders on Game 2 of Monday Night Football. I think the Chargers will have a good year!
I am hoping for 11-5 and winning the AFC West. That record is assuming everyone stays healthy, otherwise it may be closer to 8-8 because I do believe there will be three extremely close games.
The toughest opponents I think we face are late in the year: Week 11 at Denver, although the Chargers have taken care of Peyton Manning and we are not afraid! The next is Week 12 against Baltimore -- after watching the Ravens' defense last Monday, they look great. The good thing is that game is at home for San Diego. Finally, Week 14 at Pittsburgh will be tough. We always have a hard time against the Steelers, and it will be a cold and possibly snowy day.
I am just happy that football is back, and I will be there on Sunday rooting for the Chargers to beat the Titans!

My favorite player in the NFL has to be Antonio Gates from the San Diego Chargers. Of course not only is he the best tight end in the NFL and one of Phillip Rivers favorite targets, he is also a super nice person.
Rivers was the player I took to school about four years ago and he was great...he played football with all my classmates, came to my house in a giant limo and made me feel like I was the most important fan ever. I will never forget that day!
Rivers is also very tough. He played with a lot of pain in his foot this season and you could tell he was not himself. I am looking forward to this year because he will be at 100% and it could be another awesome year for him.
I know after he retires Rivers will for sure be a Hall of Famer and I am proud to have pictures with him and an autographed football. I am sure he doesn't remember that day but it will be one memory that this kid and his family will have forever.
I hope everyone is having a good summer!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and is ready to kick off the summer season. For the holiday weekend my family and I went to Redding in Northern California to visit some friends. They are huge Bengal fans and I admit I trash talked them about the upcoming Chargers vs. Bengals game on December 2nd at The Q!
They live near Lake Shasta and we went wakeboarding, which I am not very good at doing and Jet Skiing which I loved. We did a lot of hiking and climbed up this path of 820 stairs, that about killed me it was so tough! We also visited some caves and of course tossed around the football. It was a great weekend and summer is now officially around the corner. Then comes fall and we all know what happens then...football season. I am so pumped for this season I can hardly stand it.
Wishing everyone a fun-filled summer.

|I would love to score a receiving touchdown in a game, or even make an aerobatic catch!||
If I were a Charger for one game, I would be Vincent Jackson. Since I am on the shorter side I would absolutely love to be 6'5", even if it were only for a couple hours.
Also, since Vincent Jackson is one of Philip Rivers’ favorite targets. I would love to score a receiving touchdown in a game, or even make an aerobatic catch!
I really hope he gets a long term and well paid contract because he deserves it. I would trade places with him on any given NFL Sunday. I’m also hoping he makes a couple touchdowns this Sunday against the Packers. That would be awesome. Let’s go VJax!
Hoping everyone has a great Football Sunday.
So far the biggest surprise for me has been how well the Lions have started the season. After being the bottom feeders for so long, all the top Draft choices have finally started to gel, and are now undefeated through five weeks.
I would also have to say that the play of the Philadelphia "Dream Team" Eagles surprised me too but in this case, I’m surprised with how poorly they’ve played so far this season. They seemed to be everyone’s pick for the Super Bowl and now they will be lucky to make the Playoffs, if they don't turn it around.
I only hope that the Chargers don't suffer anymore injuries, win the AFC West and then land in the Super Bowl. That would be the best surprise this year.

Well, Week 2 is now in the books for the San Diego Chargers, and it wasn't pretty for them. It was the toughest road game they will play and possibly the toughest game of the year, taking on the Patriots in New England.
It was disappointing for me because the Chargers had fumbles and interceptions that killed 4 promising drives. The Chargers couldn’t even convert on 4th and inches in the red zone. I know the Chargers could've won, but you have to give credit to the Patriots, especially Tom Brady who was pretty amazing all day, no mistakes!
On a happier note, the Kansas City Chiefs are coming to San Diego next Sunday, and I will be there cheering on the Chargers.
Win, lose, or tie, I'm a Chargers Fan ‘til I die. Bolt Up!

Hi NFL Rushers:
Now that the Preseason is in full-swing everyone that plays Fantasy Football is trying to get their lineup in order.
If I had to pick a Quarterback today, I would probably take Michael Vick of the Eagles. He has incredible talent around him with his receivers. He can attack you with his passing and his running. If he stays healthy he will be scoring lots of points for his team.
I hope everyone is having a great summer and enjoying the Preseason. I have to admit Philip Rivers looked good in the game against the Seahawks, although he only played the first series :).

|His record after 15 years in NFL is 161-99-1 including two Super Bowl titles.||
My favorite NFL Coach is not coaching right now, but I believe if the right job came up he would take it in a heartbeat. It is former Steelers Head Coach Bill Cowher. He knows how to win. His record after 15 years in NFL is 161-99-1 including two Super Bowl titles.
He is a very classy guy and is so passionate about the game and his team. I would love for him to be the next Chargers coach, but I think he is pretty happy where hs is as a host on the CBS pregame show NFL Today.

Hope that everyone is having a good summer... but I am ready for some football.
Other than the Chargers I think my favorite mascot and team unform would have to be the Jacksonville Jaguars. I've always liked big cats, and the Jaguar is big, fast and has ninja-like skills. I love the Jacksonville Jaguars black and teal colors.
But nothing is better than my Bolts and Blue and Yellow :).
I have been busy this summer and looking forward to August 1st when my football practices start.
Thats all for now.

|My favorite part of the offseason is when the Chargers have mini camps and rookie camps.||I can't believe June 1st is almost here and school is out soon :).
My favorite part of the offseason is when the Chargers have mini camps and rookie camps. The news covers them and I get so pumped up for the season to start.
Then the team announces when fall camps start and days the public is invited to watch. My mom and I go every year and I try to get autographs and pictures.
Then September rolls around and I am one happy guy. I just love football and all the things that go along with it: tailgating, good food, friends and family, nothing better on a Sunday in San Diego, and adding a Charger win is the icing on the cake.
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.
See ya....Kid Reporter Kody
|"They needed a lot of help on defense and special teams and that's where they went with their picks."||I am really happy with the Chargers 2011 Draft. They needed a lot of help on defense and special teams and that's where they went with their picks.
Picking up Corey Liuget, the Defensive End from Illinois was a great get. I think that he will definitely see some serious playing time this year.
But my favorite round for the Chargers was the 3rd...getting home town Wide Receiver Vincent Brown from SDSU was great because he has some good hands and will defintely be a solid target for Rivers in the coming years. And being a huge USC fan, I was happy to see the Chargers pick up Defensive End Shareece Wright. The Chargers see a lot of upside in him and I hope he comes through...he had some tough times at USC, but last year he was a shining star.
That's all for now...Kid Reporter Kody signing off :)
