In Cincinnati their defensive and offensive coaches have left for other teams. The Bengals' didn't do enough to keep them here as coaches. I think that the Bengals made a mistake. These two coaches helped send them to playoffs 4 years in a row. The players liked and respected the coaches and played hard for them. This was not a good move by the Bengal's front office.
I am proud of the 2013 Bengals. They made it a great season to watch. I'm disappointed that they did not go further in the Playoffs because they were a much better team than what they showed in the first round.
This offseason, I wish they would have kept the defensive coordinator. Cincinnati's offense is one of the best in the league and Mike Zimmer was the man behind it. His guys wanted to play hard for him. I heard on the local radio that all the guys on defensive loved him and wanted to play hard every play for him. That tells me he was well respected in the locker room.
The offensive coordinator loss is a big one too but I think maybe it will be good for the Bengals to change up their offense a little. A new coach will bring new ideas of how to use the weapons they have. I can't wait to see what happen next season for the Bengals.
I do not think anyone expected the results of this year's Super Bowl. It was a beat down from the first snap of the ball. The Seahawks beat the Broncos on every side of the field. Their defense shut down Peyton and his great wide receiver selection. That's an accomplish since he has so many weapons to pick from. The Bronco's could not get any offense going.
I think that the Seahawks have a good chance to keep things going. They are a young team with great players. If they keep up their current game plan and players, they could be repeat Super Bowl champs. Their defense needs to stay sharp in order to maintain dominance.
It would be fun to watch my hometown team the Cincinnati Bengals with a matchup with the Seahawks since they both have such great defensive teams.
My hometown and favorite team, the Cincinnati Bengals recently lost a commodity. Both their offense and defense coordinators left to become head coach for other teams in the NFL. This is definitely going to hurt the Bengals. Most noteably, the Bengals defense has been amongst the best in the league for several years. I have heard in interviews these guys adored and would do anything for Coach Zimmer. They said the guys would do anything for him. The Viking guys will be getting a good coach. Zimmer was great at rallying his players and reading the offense of the other team. His defense guys put the Cincinnati offense on the field to make plays and stopped their opponent. He also was very good at picking up other player and having them ready for one of his top guys went out hurt. This year he had to replace key guys like Maualuga and was successful while his keys players were hurt. Looking forward to see his coaching with Peterson who is such a great player.
The Redskins and RGIII will benefit from the gain of Jay Gruden. He is a great offensive coordinator. He took a young quarterback and receivers and made them a dominant force on the field. With the talent of RGIII and Gruden next year should be fun to watch.
As for my team, the Bengals, I want to see them keep building on what they have and get further in the playoffs and hopefully go to the Super Bowl.
How are they going to do ?
The Kansas City Chiefs started with a 9-0 record. Their first loss came from Peyton Manning. Most people thought the Chiefs had an easy victory. That is the way it looked for the first half. The Chiefs were dominating the Colts. No one saw the Colts making a come back. After half time, Andrew Luck and the Colts returned to the game ready and pumped up. Andrew Luck had 443 yards and 4 touchdowns but he also had 3 interceptions. Alex Smith had 3 touchdown with less yards than Luck with 378 but he did not have any interceptions. The Chiefs didn't have their usual offensive attack without Jamal Charles. The Chiefs defense had some injuries as well and were not able to stop the Colts offense from coming back. This was a pretty was a huge comeback.
The Colts have a big obstacle in their way, and it's called New England. Good luck, Andrew Luck, Brady is pretty experienced here.
Tom Brady demonstrated Brady Power during Sunday's Browns vs New England game. The Browns were lucky to have had a lead over New England. I do not see them as a team that is making a comeback. They have lost 4 games in a row, and only won 4 games this year. One of the games won was against the Bengals which they should not have won; the Bengals gave it to them.
On the other hand, I think Brady really stepped it up for his team. They were not doing that well until Brady turned on his game. It fired up the team. He showed Brady power. He acted as the team leader, showed he was not ready to quit and wouldn't let his team quit either. He rallied them to a comeback.
My prediction is New England will win the AFC East. They are 10-3 right now, with a 7-0 home record, they are on a 3 game win streak, and are 3-1 in their divisional games. Their division record is a good thing since 2 of 3 of their last games are against division teams (Buffalo and Miami). They will win both division games and may take a loss to Ravens to finish with a 12-4 record still on top of NFC East. This improves New England's chance in the playoffs since they will have home field advantage.
The Bengals will be the surprise team in the playoffs. Early in the season, they lost a couple of games to teams they should have won. The losses that the Bengals had were loss by a just a few points and most times in overtime. They had some key player injuries that really hurt their defense. They recovered by beating tough teams like New England and Green Bay. Recently, some players started to turn it on. Players like punter Kevin Huber has been punting great this whole year and this week was the AFC player of the week, AJ Green has over 1,100 yards rushing this season and RB Ben Jarvus Green-Ellis and Giovani Bernard have 614 and 521 rushing yards. Their team is working together and really feeding off their beastly defensive charge.
The Chiefs have hit a slump. I do not think they will make the playoffs. They won the first nine games in a row and they were playing like machines. Recently, they took a turn for the worse. They have lost three games in a row. To make this worse, they lost in weeks that Denver has won which put them at a further disadvantage in their division. Coming into week 14, the Chiefs are 9-3. It seems like the team has lost their mojo.
I believe the Denver Broncos will come to play and beat the New England Patriots. After last week, the Broncos and Peyton Manning beat the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, they will have a lot of momentum going into the game. Plus Broncos have a great quarterback that has been very successful and accurate in throwing with little interceptions. This puts the Broncos in the driver's seat for the win.
Tom Brady and the Patriots have had a great season but they fall short of the Broncos. They will have an advantage in playing their home field, however, the Broncos are 3-1 on the road. The Broncos offense has scored 398 points this season and Patriots only scored 254. Peyton is on track to surpass Brady's single season passing touchdown record of 52. Peyton will have 4 touchdowns (0 interceptions) and 400 yards and Brady will have 3 touchdowns but 1 interceptions. Peyton is looking at being the league MVP. I think Tom will have a good game too, but the Broncos defense will keep Brady at bay. It will be a close game but Denver will come on top.
I think the Chiefs (AFC) and the Panthers (NFC) will be the Wild Cards this season. The Broncos will beat the Chiefs record and take the lead in that division and eventually win the AFC Division. Peyton and the Broncos had a successful year last year and have gotten even better this year. Denver and New Orleans will face off in the Super Bowl. Peyton will lead the Broncos to a win and take home his second Super Bowl ring.
The MVP will also belong to Peyton Manning because he has had an accurate year with a whopping 3,249 yards, 33 touchdowns and little interceptions. With only 10 weeks into the season, he is averaging at 3 touchdowns a game. That's amazing even for Peyton.
The comeback player will be running back Maurice Jones Drew. He will break out for beast runs over the next couple of games. This guy is little but quite beastly.
This game was a real let down. Losing by 2 points by the way of a safety is not fun. Andy Dalton did not have a good game. He threw 3 picks while Tannehill threw zero. Although Dalton had 3 picks, he also had 338 yards. You should expect good results in scoring when you have 338 yards. Bernard had 79 yards rushing and Green had 128 yards in receptions. The Bengals needed to get something going offensively and they couldn't. The Bengals had plenty of yards to have a good game but they couldn't execute those into points. They did convert their 3 downs very well. I think the Bengals defensive usually puts the offensive in a good position and provides the energy that the team needs. LastThursday the defense only had 3 sacks. The defense losing one of their leaders in Geno Atkins along with the loss of Rey Mauluga cripples the defense for Cincinnati. Also not having Andrew Whitworth hurts too because he is a leader of the team too. The next few weeks for the Bengals will be tough. The remainder of the schedule is not as competitive so I hope they still get into the playoffs.
I think it was an emotional return for Peyton to Indy. We saw him smiling and waving at his old fans that paid respect to him at the stadium. I think he was happy to see his old teammates and be able to be back in the dome he used to play for so many years. Peyton played well. I heard that Indy coaches knew from past that Peyton didn't have as good games when they opened the dome so when the Bronco's came to play, the dome was open. There were things that didn't go Denver's way. Denver's defense didn't play as well as they usually do. However, it was a fun game to watch. The Colts defense scored a safety and forced a fumble in the last drive of the game. Denver could not get pass third and one.
Indy was prepared. Luck most likely studied Denver's defense to know the holes he could throw to. Their defense probably watched films to know their weak spots to stop the Bronco's offense.
The Indy team will not be the same without Reggie Wayne. I think it will hurt them to have lost him early in the season. Without Wayne, I don't think Indy will end up being in the playoffs or go very far.
I did not stay up to watch the Chargers and Raiders game at 11:35. I had to go to school, so I wasn't allowed to stay up that late. I think the fans will be mad if they play games on a regular schedule at this time because they have to go to work or school the next day. The future supporters of the NFL are school kids and they can't stay up to watch games. I think some of the players could have been tired and might not have played their best game. The commercials producers will not get a big audience and not get the exposure they need. I also think the stadium will not sell out because of the time.
No more 11:35 games.
I think that Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos will be undefeated in the regular season. After four regular season games, he has sixteen touchdowns, 1,470 yards and zero picks. The offensive line is protecting Peyton really well so he can do what he does best. They have only allowed five sacks on Peyton. One of the reasons why Peyton is doing so well is because he has three receivers that are combined for 14 touchdowns. The receivers are Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas and Wes Welker. The Broncos defense has 11 sacks on the opponent's quarterback. They have intercrpted the ball six times.
If another team will beat the Broncos they need to blow through the offensive line and rush Peyton. If they could rush his pass to cause an interception or uncompleted passes this would help Peyton not be such a threat. Good luck trying to beat polished Peyton machine.
It's hard to believe that Super bowl champs Eli Manning and the New York Giants fall to 0-3. Last year they were over .500 with a 9-7 record. The reason they are losing is because Eli is getting sacked and they are fumbling to many balls. The offensive line is letting the defensive line blow through them and get the sack. They have to hold blocks and protect Eli in pocket to allow him to make a good throw. With a little offesnive protection, Eli can pull off Eli magic.
In the first two weeks of the NFL season, the most anticipated game was the Denver Broncos versus New York Giants.
The thing that caught my eye was the Manning brothers have only met two times. Who would win? Both of the previous wins went to Peyton. Both brothers have won the Super Bowl. Peyton is the older brother by five years and he has more NFL experience. In week one, Peyton won by throwing 462 yds against the Ravens. That same week, Eli lost to the Dallas Cowboys but completed 450 yds.
In the battle of the brothers, Peyton won 41-23. Peyton had 307 yds with 2 tds and Eli had 362 yds with 1 td. My question, who did their mom and dad want to win?
Victor Cruz is a wide reciever for the New York Giants and his new contract will pay him $45 million over six seasons. He is guaranteed to get at least $15.6 million of that contract regardless of what happens.
Cruz is from Patterson, NJ, not far from the Meadowlands. Just three years ago he was an undrafted free agent who was paid league minimum salary. He wasn't expected to play at the level he does today.
Victor played wide receiver in University of Massachusetts. He finished college with 149 catches, had over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns. That put him fourth in their all-time record. His stats with the NY Giants are 1,092 yards with 10 touchdowns in 2012 and in 2012 Cruz set the Giants single season record with 1,536 yards and added 9 touchdowns.
Cruz is rooting for Nicks to get a big contract too. I think Eli Manning, Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz will create a winning combination for the Giants. '
Play 60 camps teach you to be a good person off the field as well as on the field. Cruz showed his character when he honored a Sandy Hook victim, Jack Pinto who died. Jack was a Victor Cruz fan so Victor wrote on his shoes , "RIP Jack Pinto" and "Jack Pinto My Hero". He also went to talk to Jack's family and gave the cleats and gloves he wore in the game to Jack's brother, Ben.
He showed the character of caring for other people and not being selfish. Good job Victor Cruz.!
I was able to attend the NFL PLAY 60 camp at Paul Brown Stadium which was sponsored by the Anthony Munoz agency. PLAY 60 is an effort by the NFL to get kids to be active for at least 60 minutes a day. This camp focused on no tackle basic skills of football. I think the PLAY 60 camp was a really great time, it taught me how to have more fun with football.
The coaches were really nice. They showed us catching, throwing and blocking drills. I liked the running contest the best. They were supportive of all the kids no matter how good you were. They also explained what you were doing wrong if you messed up and didn't yell at campers.
I also met Brayden Coombs who is a wide receiver and special teams coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. I did not recognize him because he looked very young. He was really nice and answered questions for me about my favorite player A.J. Green.
This camp reached out to kids to teach about characteristics that a person and a sports player should have on and off the field. Also the coaches taught us about making good choices on and off the field.
Mr. Anthony Munoz was the sponsor of this event. He is the only Cincinnati Bengal to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. My dad remembers him playing for the Bengals and said he is considered the best offensive lineman in NFL history. He is from a Hispanic family and wanted to introduce football to kids of Hispanic background.
I got to meet Mr. Munoz and interview him. He told me that playing in the NFL was very tough but very fun. I asked him if football was popular in his neighborhood and he said baseball was more popular. When I asked him if he was scared to play football he said that he was never scared to play in NFL, but just didn't want to fail.
Mr. Munoz also enjoyed times when he went out to dinner with his teammates on Thursday nights. Lastly, he told me to have good work habits if you want to be successful in life.
I hope that I can go to Play 60 camp next year. I always play 60 minutes or more a day to stay healthy and practice my sports.

I think the PLAY 60 camp was a really good camp, as it taught me how to have more fun with football. The coaches had really good drills. They showed us catching, throwing and blocking drills and taught us Mission Impossible. I liked the running contest the best. The coaches were really nice and supportive of the kids no matter how good they were. They also explained what you were doing wrong if you messed up and didn’t yell.
I got to meet Brayden Coombs who is a Wide Receiver and Special Teams coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. I didn’t know Coombs was a coach because he was really young and didn’t look like the average coach. He was really nice and answered questions for me about my favorite player A.J. Green.
This camp reached out to kids to teach about characteristics that a person and an athlete should have on and off the field. Also, the coaches taught us about making good choices on and off the field.

The last seconds of the AFC Championship game the score was 35-28 with the Broncos' with the lead. Joe Flacco connects to Jacoby Jones for a 70 yard bomb that he takes into the end zone to tie the game. Jacoby beat two defensive players to make this catch. This dude is a beast. This tied the game and gave the Ravens the chance to play in overtime. The Ravens went to victory and eventually won the Super Bowl. Without this play, the Ravens most likely wouldn't be Super Bowl Champs.
Most states that have more than one team in the NFL are usually in different divisions. This is not the case for the state of Ohio. In the AFC North, the Bengals and Browns are fierce rivals. The Bengals and Browns are battling for the Ohio title. Their rivalry started over 43 years ago. Paul Brown founded both teams and they have similar color for uniforms. They play two times a year and have played against each other 79 times, in which the Bengals have the winning record of 42-37. When these teams play, you can be assured a sold out game, which is good news for Bengals fans. Two of the highest scoring games in NFL history were between the Browns and Bengals.
In addition to Bengals and Browns, Bengals and Steelers are ferocious enemies. Their rivalry started as well in 1970. These two teams meet twice a year. The Steelers usually get the victory, but the Bengals bring their best game when playing against the Steelers. The record is 52-33 in favor of the Steelers, however, things should be interesting in 2013, when the ex-Steeler James Harrison suits up in a Bengals uniform. Bengals fans are excited to have him join the club.
This was a historic year for the NFL Draft. The biggest surprise was no quarterback was selected in the top 15 for the first time in the last 15 years. In last year's Draft, the top two picks were quarterbacks (the Colt’s Andrew Luck and the Redskin’s Robert Griffin III). Both had great college careers and broke NFL rookie records. This year's Draft top picks were not the high-profile quarterback, running back or wide receiver positions, but the offensive and defensive line spots.
Dee Milliner from Alabama was selected by the New York Jets with the ninth pick. He was selected as a cornerback. I think he will have a hard year to find his spot on the team as he has big shoes to fill replacing Revis.
LSU's Tyrann Mathieu was picked in the third round by the Arizona Cardinals. He was a beast two seasons ago at LSU as a cornerback. He will learn a lot from his teammate Patrick Peterson, another former LSU cornerback. I hope he does well and stays out of trouble, so he can be successful on the football field. I like seeing him get the pick six.
James Harrison is the best remaining free agent. In his nine-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an outside linebacker, he has had 64 sacks, 5 interceptions and 456 tackles. I hope he signs with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals could use a linebacker that plays hard and with aggression. He will help their defense as well as their offense against the rival Steelers. He is not happy with the Steelers, so he will play hard against them and want to beat them.
Darrelle Revis is a cornerback that sticks to the receiver like glue. He can take over the game and shut down the offense. He played for the New York Jets for six seasons. His career stats are 241 tackles, 19 interceptions, and 3 touchdowns. The first time I noticed Revis was in a game against the Bengals in 2010. He shut down Chad Ochocinco. Ochocinco was my favorite player at the time and Revis made him look like a rookie. In September 2012, Revis hurt his knee against the Miami Dolphins. Revis had knee surgery and looks like he is making a good recovery.
I think the Jets will trade Revis to the Bucs and will get their first round draft picks in 2014. The Bucs will gain a leader on the defense. He makes the whole team better by watching film to learn routes that other teams run to break up the pass patterns and shut down the receivers.
The Jets will be making a bad mistake in trading the star Revis. They will figure that out when they don't have a cornerback covering the receivers holding off their yards gained. Mark Sanchez will be picked off and Santonio Holmes will be invisible on the field against Revis. When I am playing defense on my football team, I dream of being as great as Revis.
