Johnny Manziel was my biggest surprise. I thought he was going to go in the first 10 picks of the NFL Draft. He ended up being selected in the first round at number 22. The Cleveland Browns took him and have high expectations for him this year. They have not made a playoff appearance since 2002. Johnny can really improve their game and increase their chances of seeing playoffs this year.
The Houston Texans have the first draft pick and can really use defensive help. I think they will draft Jadeveon Clowney. I believe he will fare amazing in the NFL. He has power, strength, and intelligence to dominate. If the Texans take Clowney, their defensive line will be young and healthy with him and Watt on the same line.
I feel the NFL Free Agency has been going good so far. I especially liked the Patriots taking Darell Revis. I really think it was a good move because it could really help New England's defense rank higher. I would also try to go get a cornerback but Revis is definitely going to give the Patriots a good advantage this season.
I believe the Seattle Seahawks are going to win the Super Bowl. I think the Seahawks strong defense will shut Peyton Manning down and force them to run the ball. Even when Manning passes the wind may effect his accuracy. In order for Seattle to win they are going to need a big game from their key players such as Wilson, Lynch, Tate, and Sherman.
I think the Colts fourth quarter comeback was unbelievable and one of the best comebacks in NFL history. I didn't think they would comeback and win after the 28 point difference at halftime. The Colts were not generating any opportunities on offense and the Chiefs were playing strong defense. One key player in the game for the Colts was Ty Hilton he had 13 catches for 224 yards and a 64 yard reception to win the game. Also Andrew Luck had an awesome passing game with 443 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. The Kansas City Chiefs should of played more man coverage and pressured Luck more.
The game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys is going to be a blowout. Tony Romo's absence, because of his injury, will affect the rest of the offense. Kyle Orton hasn't played with the team all year, and the timing with receivers will be off. I don't believe Orton will play as well as Romo because there is going to be miss communication between him and the rest of the offense. Also Dallas has one of the worst defenses in the NFL right now. The Eagles run a fast hurry-up offense that will really work to their advantage and I believe their offense during this game will take them to the playoffs.
I had faith in Tom Brady coming back from the 24-0 deficit. He is a tremendous QB in cold weather and can get the job done. I thought the game would go to overtime when I seen the Patriots coming back. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are two of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and I knew the game was going to be close. They both played well but Brady seems to do better than any other quarterback under pressure. As long as the New England Patriots have the same or better record as Denver they will have a better playoff spot.
I don't think the Denver Broncos can come off a bye week and hand the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss. Denver will have to stop Jamaal Charles's running game and limit Alex Smith's passing. And even though the Chiefs may not have the best offense, they do have a strong defense. The Broncos offensive line will need to give Peyton enough time to check down his receivers, and not too sure he can do that with the way Kansas City's defense has been playing. I'm going to go with the Chiefs this week.
Peyton Manning has definitely exceeded expectations thus far this season. After his previous neck injury, he said he wasn't sure if he would ever be as good as he was before the injury. Well I think he was wrong. Peyton is playing great this year, especially in Week 1. Peyton threw 7 touchdowns and had a total of 462 yards against Baltimore. Also he lead his team to a victory over the New York Giants, beating his younger brother. He passed for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns. Manning and the Broncos are 2-0, making them the team to beat in the AFC west.
I think the long term signing of Victor Cruz is smart. It's smart because he has been a big part of the Giant's offense ever since he was signed. Also, Eli and Cruz have a really good connection.
Cruz is deep threat to his opponents and holds the Giants record for the most receiving yards in a season. The most impressive thing is he is tied for the longest touchdown reception of all time, and he's only 26 years old!!
If I were the general manager of a team I would make sure that I hired a great head coach. I think a great head coach is even more valuable than a great quarterback.
If you have a great quarterback the coach is still the one that makes the game plan which the QB follows on gameday. They have to oversee their entire team including staff. That is why I think a great head coach is more valuable than a great quarterback.
The most memorable play in the 2012 season was in the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos AFC championship game. It was 3rd down and 3, with 40 seconds remaining in the game and Jacoby Jones was wide open. He caught a pass and scored a touchdown behind the Denver defense. The incredible play tied the game and helped give Baltimore a chance to win!
When a game is on the line, Tom Brady will get the job done. He has done it time and time again. He is a great quarterback with amazing accuracy and arm strength, but best of all, he stays calm in the pocket. The way he plays can change the whole outlook of the game. I would trust him any day with a game on the line.
