Kid Reporter: Dalton's standout season.

After leading the Bengals to three straight playoffs without a win, Andy Dalton is finally ready to have his breakout season. In a division that consists of the aging Steelers and Ravens, and the Browns (who have yet to be a threat in the AFC North) it looks good for the Bengals to win the division. The Bengals have a good receiving core headed by A.J Green. This should give Dalton plenty of options, deep or short. As a quarterback, he has improved accuracy and decision making during his time in the NFL. I think that this is the season that Dalton will finally put up big numbers and help the Bengals to a good playoff run.

I think that the Colts defense did a good job in coverage to really keep Peyton limited. Their secondary was key to their victory. Also, Andrew Luck threw the ball really well and he cut up the Denver secondary. The receivers behind Wayne really had to step up and they did, especially Coby Fleener who had a TD catch. I think that if the Colts can play like this every week they are going to be a serious playoff contender, even without Wayne. Their defense is solid and they have a powerful offensive attack. So watch out for the Colts this year, because you might just see them on the NFL's biggest stage.

Kid Reporter: Trent's Big Move

The Browns recently delt away their franchise running back to the Colts for a first round pick in the 2014 draft. The question is, who does this benefit more? The Browns or the Colts?   To me, I think this is a no-brainer. The Colts lost a first round pick, but they got Trent Richardson, a dynamic running back in his second season, and they have Amahad Bradshaw and Donald Brown behind him. To me, I think this is a no-brainer. The Colts lost a first round pick, but they got Trent Richardson, a dynamic running back in his second season, and they have Amahad Bradshaw and Donald Brown behind him. They also have Andrew Luck in his second year running the offense at quarterback and Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton, Derius Heyward-Bay, and Colby Fleener catching passes. Overall, that is a really strong attack.

The Browns on the other hand have Brandon Weedon at quarterback who hasn't really figured out the NFL, Willis MaGahee at running back which isn't bad, but is not getting any younger. They have Devon Bess and Greg Little at reciever and Jordan Cameron at tight end. They are a young and talented group, but with no one to get them they ball, it renders them kind of usless. So overall, the Colts clearly benefit more than the Browns from this deal.

The Jags on the other hand have always had pretty cool colors and the new style has just enhanced the overall look. The two-tone helmets are new and unique.

All three new uniforms are sharper and look much better than they had before hand. Overall, these new uniforms have opened up a world of possibilities for the future of the NFL.

Tebow with the Pats

Now that Tim Tebow is a member of the Patriots he should be used in some sort of wildcat formation. Tom Brady is the best QB in the NFL so there is no chance that Tebow will be a starter. But, the Pats have had a shortage of strong runners over the past few years so a wildcat QB or a goal line running QB could be very beneficial to them. All in all, Tebow could be a very beneficial part to the Pats' already overpowering offensive attack.

Niners win Super Bowl with young star, Kaepernick

I was a little skeptical at first, but in these nine weeks that he has started and in his first playoff game, I have come to see that he is an extremely dynamic player and a rising star. Now that we are this deep into the playoffs, I believe that the Niners will play the Pats in the big game.

This will be an exciting game with a lot of scoring and I think in the end the Niners will come out on top. The Pats have a seriously strong offense, but even though it has improved, the Pats' defense still lacks a strong secondary. Aquib Talib was a fantastic addition to their secondary, but they are still not great.

The Niners, on the other hand, have a fantastic defense and a powerful offense. If Kaepernick can keep his head and play like he did against Green Bay, who has a similar defense to New England, the Niners should have no issue pulling off a win. I think the Niners will win the Super Bowl over the Pats 31 - 17.

'Skins for NFC East

This season, as always, the NFC East is coming down to a few games.   It seems that the Giants are going to end up at the top of the division, but the real question is the 'Boys or the 'Skins. The race for the second place spot and possibly the division title is on. It seems that the Giants are going to end up at the top of the division, but the real question is the 'Boys or the 'Skins. The race for the second place spot and possibly the division title is on. With the Giants at 8-5 and the 'Boys and 'Skins at 7-6, this week could decide it all.

Even though RG3 is out, I think that Cousins is a fantastic player, and he pulled it out against one of the best teams in the league, the Ravens. The 'Skins are playing the Brown so they should pick up the win pretty easily. The Cowboys are playing the Steelers, which will present them with a challenge, and the Giants are playing the two-lose Falcons which will also present a challenge.

So, if the 'Skins win, the 'Boys win, and the Giants lose (all very possible), that will knot up the division at 8-6 for all three teams. My predictions are 'Skins win, 'Boys loose, and so do the Giants. If I am correct, the division will stand at 'Skins and Giants tied at first with 8-6 records, and the 'Boys just behind at 7-7. I can't wait for Sunday!

Tebow or Sanchez? How About...Neither

The New York Jets have a decision to make with the quarterback position. This battle is between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.   In my opinion Tim Tebow should not be the starter for these reasons: 1) He has decent legs, but cannot throw. 2) His head is who knows where and he doesn't read coverages well. 3) He just hasn't proven him self. Unless you count what he did last year against the Steelers who have a week secondary. 4) He will have to deal with the fact that he will be number 1.5

The New York Jets have a decision to make with the quarterback position. This battle is between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.

In my opinion Tim Tebow should not be the starter for these reasons:

1) He has decent legs, but cannot throw.

2) His head is who knows where and he doesn't read coverages well.

3) He just hasn't proven him self. Unless you count what he did last year against the Steelers who have a week secondary.

4) He will have to deal with the fact that he will be number 1.5 on the depth chart his whole career unless he proves otherwise. Never the starter but never on the bench for the whole game.

Now here my reasons for not liking Sanchez.

1) He is SO inaccurate.

2) His head is also messed up.

3) He, like Tebow, has not proven him self.

4) He always makes the wrong throw at the wrong time.

5) He has ball handling issues.

So that pretty much sums up why neither of these quarterbacks are suitable for me. For right now I think that the Jets should stick with Mark Sanchez because of experience, and his skill level is slightly higher.

Now let's talk about what I think the Jets should do for the sake of their future: trade Tebow and Sanchez for an early pick and draft someone like AJ McCarron or Aaron Murray. Make him their starting quarterback and make Greg McElroy their second string. Over all, these simple steps should help the Jets' future.

RG3 the Best Rookie

He has really looked good and has been accurate and smart with his passes, as well and seeking the field and making his cuts in the running game.

Andrew Luck has looked good as well, but there haven't really been any standout performances from him yet. Trent Richardson has struggled in the yards category, but has scored in three straight games.

Doug Martin got off to a strong start Week 1, but has faltered since. Russell Wilson has proven to be a strong leader, but a great deal of his early success has been powered by Marshawn Lynch's great start to the season. Alfred Morris has been extremely good, and a very valuable piece in Mike Shanahan's offense. Michael Floyd is an extremely talented wide recover, but the Cardinals are mostly using him as a blocker, which has been working well. Finally we have Justin Blackmon. Although he flashed his CalvinJohnson-like style in college, Justin Blackmon doesn't have any good supporting pieces in the offense besides MJD.

As you can see from the descriptions of these featured rookies, RG3 has the most potential. One thing he will have to overcome is the fact that he plays for the Redskins. The Redskins aren't a bad team, but they are young and could use some defensive help to match their explosive offense. Also, RG3 is a little bit undersized for a mobile quarterback. He is 6'2" compared to Cam Newton at 6'5". All in all, RG3 has a few things to overcome, but will most likely be a successful quarterback in the NFL.

This week the Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Denver to face off against the Broncos.

The Steelers were the favorite by many, but not by me. They were without James Harrison, Ryan Clark, and Rashard Mendenhall. This put them at a serious disadvantage. They were missing their fastest and strongest defensive player, as well as their Pro Bowl running back.

Now to the game. From the early stages, I could tell that I would be right on my prediction. Even with the Steelers on top at the half, I had a feeling that the Broncos were going to stick around and win. Throughout the entire game, the Broncos looked sharp on both sides of the ball.

The Steelers, on the other hand, looked mentally and physically slow. Especially at the end of the game when Ben Roethlisberger pump-faked twice and then whipped the ball out of bounds. He threw a pick on the next snap.

Also, I was extremely impressed by Peyton Manning's performance. The man hasn't touched a football in a year and half and then he stepped onto the field and went 19/26, threw for 253 yards, 2 TDs, and no picks. Those are amazing numbers, espesially for a guy who missed all of last season. Also, his command of the offense was fantastic. He looked like the same Peyton from the 2006 Suber Bowl team that the Colts put together. Peyton made the Broncos look like the Colts of old.

Overall, I think that the Steelers are going to have a rough year due to the age issues and, as I mentioned before, the mentality of Ben Roethlisberger.

It started when Jerome Simpson caught a short pass. Simpson was about to score when Daryl Washington came from nowhere to try to disrupt the play. He was about to make the tackle when Jerome Simpson flipped over him and stuck the landing for a touchdown. All in all, this is the best play I have ever witnessed in my life and may be the best ever!

I will remember Jerome Simpson’s play for the rest of my life, and I’m sure sports fans everywhere will too.  This is the kind of individual effort and talent that replayed over and over and is never forgotten.  Way to go Jerome!

Saints vs. 49ers: The Biggest Playoffs Upset Yet

When the 49ers beat the Saints, I was really surprised. That game was such an upset! Even with the Saints suspect defense I still thought that they could put enough pressure on Alex Smith to make him make bad throws and bad decisions.  That was not the case, as he put up fantastic numbers and one of the greatest game winning drives of all time.    Even with the 49ers extraordinary defense I thought that Drew Brees and the Saints top-notch offense would be able to hand

Even with the 49ers extraordinary defense I thought that Drew Brees and the Saints top-notch offense would be able to handle them.  But the 49ers defense was forcing countless turnovers.

One really big shocker to me was how in-sync Alex Smith and Vernon Davis were throughout the course of the game. This especially showed on that final game winning drive when he ran a great route, and all Alex Smith had to do was get him the ball. With 30 seconds left in the game, I thought that the Saints had it in the bag. But Alex Smith proved himself and made two great throws to Vernon Davis. The first throw got the 49ers into position, and the other throw won the game for them. This game was the biggest upset in my opinion because the Saints were my pick to win the SuperBowl.

Why I Think the Titans Won't Make it to the Playoffs This Year

The Tennessee Titans have a 7-6 record, but have a very grim chance of making the playoffs. I think that the Titans are a good team, but they play in a tough division and they have difficult competition in the AFC. For example, they are in the wild race and have to deal with Pittsburgh and New York.   Rookie QB Jake Locker has been really impressive. He has a good arm and is a very smart player. Chris Johnson took a while to heat up, but once he did he became just like his old self.

Rookie QB Jake Locker has been really impressive. He has a good arm and is a very smart player. Chris Johnson took a while to heat up, but once he did he became just like his old self. Another reason that they won’t make the playoffs is because of their weak defense.

Cortland Finnegan is a very strong CB, but they have virtually no D-line. WR Nate Washington has been very effective this season, but with his high ankle sprain he may be missing some time. If so, the Titans will be limited in the receiving game.

The Titans will pickup an easy win over the Colts to put them at 8-6, but that will not be enough to win the Wild Card. The upcoming game vs. the Texans will put the boot down.

The Titans will not make the playoffs due to some slow starts, a tough division, and a few key injuries.

Why the Cowboys Will Make the Playoffs

The Dallas Cowboys will make the playoffs because of their powerful offense, which is led by QB Tony Romo who has been playing great (even after his rocky start to the season) and throwing to Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. They also have a striking ground attack, which is led by DeMarco Murray who is a rookie out of Oklahoma.   The Cowboys defensive front has been extremely effective, but their secondary has been a bit rocky. The Cowboys defensive front has been extremely effective, but their secondary has been a bit rocky. I believe that the Cowboys will beat their division rivals, the Giants, to win the NFC East. Romo is 4-0 against the Giants in the regular season, and is 0-1 against the Giants in the playoffs. The stats of his last three games look like this; 66.7 completion percentage for 244yd 2TD, 0 turnovers, and 113.7 QB rating. 71.4 completion percentage for 247yds 4TD, 1 turnover, and 123.1 QB rating. 66.7 completion percentage for 244yds 2TD, 0 turnovers, and 113.7 QB rating.

The Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles have been quiet. If the Cowboys can continue the play the way they have played as of late, they will beat the Giants and win the NFC East.

Why the Bills Won't Make the Playoffs

They need to step it up on offense and defense, or they will have to rely on the Jets to lose and hope for the best.   The Bills got off to a fast and undefeated start in the 2011-2012 season, but losing games to the Giants, Jets, and Bengals didn’t help in any way.  I was so surprised when the Bills were 4-0, but since then they are 1-3 and have played really poorly.   In Week 5, Rookie QB Andy Dalton out played Ryan Fitzpatrick and handed the Bills their first loss

In Week 5, Rookie QB Andy Dalton out played Ryan Fitzpatrick and handed the Bills their first loss. And it’s all been downhill since.

Lately, the Bill’s linemen and linebackers have been slow to the ball. Their secondary has been fast and effective, but it has not been enough to keep them in close games or cause key turnovers to help spark the offense.

On a positive note cornerback Drayton Florence has really been a stand out performer this year, and has come up with a few big interceptions. Also, safety Bryan Scott has had a large number of key picks and big plays, but two players isn’t a defensive team. They need to step it up on offense and defense, or they will have to rely on the Jets to lose and hope for the best.

If the Bills only hope is to rely on a preseason Super Bowl contender than they will have no chance of a playoff appearance. The Bills can definitely improve in a lot of areas, but it may be too late for Buffalo.

My Thoughts on NFL Rules

The ruling on the field is that the runner did not complete catch during the process of the catch. It is an incomplete pass; it will be third down Detroit.” The final score of the Detroit Lions’ season opener in 2010 should have been Detroit 21 Chicago 19, but instead it was Detroit 14 Chicago 19 because the officials ruled Calvin Johnson’s clear catch an incompletion. The final score of the Detroit Lions’ season opener in 2010 should have been Detroit 21 Chicago 19, but instead it was Detroit 14 Chicago 19 because the officials ruled Calvin Johnson’s clear catch an incompletion. The continuation rule really bugs me because that was an obvious catch. If anyone saw this past Monday night game (Chiefs vs. Chargers), Curtis Brinkley (the Chargers runningback) had crossed the plane, but the ball was knocked out while he was still in the air. If the continuation rule said Calvin Johnson’s catch was incomplete, than that should have been a fumble. The continuation rule has come up in many other situations including college. For instance when Stanford played USC, Andrew Luck threw a TD pass to his wide receiver. It was a clear catch, but at the very end of the play, he went down and dropped the ball. This was ruled an incompletion due to the continuation rule. The continuation rule in my opinion is worthless and should be removed from the rulebook. As a football fan I know that at any level a touchdown is a touchdown.

During drills the refs let my buddy and I hold the practice balls before they started the linebacker drills. After the drills we met Mike Wallace, Keenan Lewis, and Ike Taylor. They were all really cool guys.

The second play of the game (not counting the Kickoff) was an interception by Ryan Clark, which setup a TD pass to Heath Miller. The next TD was a 95-yard TD pass to my man, Mike Wallace. This catch was similar to Greg Jennings’ TD catch and Steve Smith’s big catch, but then a rushing TD by Alfonso Smith put the Cardinals on the board. After a field goal by Sean Suisham the Cardinals struck back with a TD dump off to LaRod Stephans-Howling that made it a 14-17 game with Pittsburgh in the lead.

Then Big Ben found Emanuel Sunders for a short TD pass. During the next Cardinals drive, Lamar Woodly sacks Kevin Kolb for a safety. Suisham tacked on two more field goals just before Kolb tossed another TD pass and missed the two-point conversion. At the end of the game the final was 32-20 Pittsburgh.

After the game we went down to the Pittsburgh bus and met Casey Hampton, Maurkice Pouncey, Lawrence Timmons, Lamar Woodly, James Farrior, Hines Ward, Brayant McFadden, Heath Miller, Charlie Batch, and Keenen Lewis again. This was by far one of the best experiences of my life.
