Last season, there were 38 quarterbacks that started in 2012. But with the game on the line there are only a few you can trust to win a close game in the 4th quarter. My favorite clutch quarterback is Aaron Rodgers. If there was a game on the line, I would have him be the starting quarterback because he can make every throw on the field. When the pocket breaks down, he always runs for a good gain and he has solid wide receivers he can rely on. He also plays with a below average offensive line, and in my opinion, he is the best quarterback in the league.
Rodgers won a Super Bowl starting for the Green Bay Packers in 2011. If I was the GM of the San Francisco 49ers in the 2005 NFL draft, I would've taken a risk on Aaron Rodgers with the number 1 pick because I think Alex Smith was overrated. Aaron Rodgers had better stats and turned out to have a better career than Smith. That's why with the game on the line, I would start Aaron Rodgers.
