As the legendary football playwright William Shakespeare once said: "To start a rookie QB, or to not start a rookie QB, that is the question."

The Oakland Raiders have answered that question, naming rookie Derek Carr as their starting quarterback when they open the season against the New Orleans Saints.

This will be the first time since the 1970 merger that the Raiders have started a rookie quarterback.

Despite being drafted behind such notable rookie QBs as Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater, Carr is the only rookie QB to named starter for week one of the NFL season.

Will Carr be a Star?
