Can you believe it? Post Season play is starting and it is time for our Wild Card matchups. The road to the Super Bowl has begun, the seedings are set, and millions await gameday. Philadelphia vs. Dallas This last Sunday the Philidalphia Eagles did not look like a playoff worthy team against the Dallas Cowboys. Now, they have to redeem themselves for a rematch against the Cowboys. The Eagles have kissed their chances for a first round bye and a division title goodbye. The Eagles have dropped to the sixth seeding and will have to play on the road for every playoff game they have. I do think the Eagles will redeem themselves and prevail against the Cowboys 30-27. I think this game will be a nail biter and a nicely fought game. This game will come down to the Eagle's kicker, David Akers' foot. I think the NFC East Champions, Dallas end their road to the Superbowl and Philadelphia moves on to their next game. Green Bay vs. Arizona Yet another rematch. Many may say the Green Bay Packers put down the law on the Arizona Cardinals. I beg to differ. For one, Arizona rested all starters, and that includes Kurt Warner. If you may not know, there are differences between seasonal games and playoff games, playoff are the real deal. The National Football League's runner ups, the Arizona Cardinals, are far more experienced in these big games. Quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, makes his playoff debut this game. I do believe the Arizona Cardinals will not upset in Glendale and I expect them to steal Green Bay's Superbowl hopes and take this game 27-13. The Packers pack their bags while the Cardinals fly on. New York Jets vs. Cincinnati Here's rematch number three and I assure you, no other rematches. Well anyhow, New York Jets' late season shut out against the Bengals puts them in a position to face off with them once again but there's one big difference, the Bengals now play their starters. No, I don't expect Chad Ochocinco's trash talking to quit and no I don't expect a lopsided game. Mark Sanchez, quarterback of the Jets, is making his first playoff start so I expect Jets running back, Thomas Jones, to carry the load. The Bengal's late season collapse continues in my opinion, and the New York Jets win once again, this time 17-10. This was a difficult pick for me, but I see the the Cincinnati Bengals to approach a fork in the road. Baltimore vs. New England The last time these two teams met, New England prevailed 27-21. Things have changed, for both teams now. Early this season, it really seemed like the Ravens were trying to establish a passing game with Joe Flacco, quarterback of the Ravens. Now, Baltimore has a developed ground game. New England lost a big weapon, Wes Welker, in the last game of the seasons against the Texans. This will take a huge impact on the Patriots, I believe. This game is in favor of Baltimore's hands because they are a more balanced team, their solid run game will lead them to a 23-14 victory. I do believe Baltimore flies on with a big upset. My Final Words I do believe we have a wild weekend ahead of us with upsets, shootouts, and great plays. I hope your new year has started off great and you get to enjoy the great games ahead. Signing off, Austin. |
