What's Up NFLRushers! As you may know, the Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb has been offically traded. McNabb is no longer a Philadelphia Eagle, he is a Washington Redskin. After many weeks of trade rumors, they finally came true. Many Eagle Fans thought that the Philadelphia Organization, would not trade McNabb. But, it looks like they were wrong. They had an offer on the table, and they decided to accept it. McNabb spent 11 seasons of his NFL Career with the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a six time Pro Bowler, and led the Eagles to 5 NFC Championship games, and one Super Bowl. Overall, Donovan McNabb is a great Quarterback. "Why did Philadelphia Eagles trade him?" you may ask. First of all, the Eagles traded McNabb because they are changing to a younger team. McNabb is 33 years old, and they believed that Kevin Kolb was ready to start. Secondly, I think the Eagles traded McNabb because they need to win a Super Bowl. Donovan took the Eagles to the Playoffs, but could never finish with a bang. The Eagles always fell short of the Super Bowl. Therefore, the Eagles decieded to trade McNabb, and start the new season with Kolb. As you may also know, many Fans disagree with the Eagles trade to the Redskins. Some fans are wondering why the Eagles traded McNabb to the Redskins, when they play them two times every season. The Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles are NFC East rivals. Why would they do this? Well, I believe they did this because they had no choice. The 2010 NFL Draft is near, and the Eagles knew that time was running out. So, the Redskins made an offer, and the Eagles accepted it. Last but not least, I am happy with the Eagles decision, but also disapointed. I am happy that Kevin Kolb is the new face of the Philadelphia Team, and its a new start for them. But, I will always miss Donovan throwing passes to DeSean Jackson halfway down the field, and acting like he's playing a guitar. It was fun watching McNabb on the sidelines, and dancing with enjoyment and happiness. Now you can see why the Eagles traded McNabb. Hey NFLRushers, do you think the Philadelphia Eagles should have traded Donovan McNabb? Good Luck Donovan McNabb! NFLRush Reporter-Joseph |
