TWO GAMES TO GO...

The Raven's season went up in flames on Saturday, as they lost a blowout to Indy 20-3. This was definitely not the way that John Harbaugh wanted the season to end. For the first drive or so, Baltimore looked like they were going to keep pace with the Colts, but then the Ravens let the game slip out of their hands.

Although Baltimore's season is over, it's not the end of football for the rest of the year (although it sure feels like it!). We still have some conference championship games that we have to see. Well, here we go...

Jets vs. Colts: These teams have some history together, as they have played multiple times. Perhaps the most notable time was in Super Bowl III, when the Jets upset the Colts (who were still the Baltimore Colts at that time) in Joe Namath's "guaranteed victory" game.

Well, this year, New York walked on thin ice to get to the playoffs, while Indy came in with the best record in the conference. Now these two teams are the last ones standing in the AFC. The Colts are coming off a strong showing in a win over the Ravens (grrrr...) while the Jets are coming off a huge upset of San Diego (I don't think anyone really saw that one coming). To win, Indy will have to be able to keep Darrelle Revis in check and not let him make any big plays like he did last week against the Chargers. On the other side of the coin, Mark Sanchez will have to bring it full force against a surging Colts defense. In the end, though, Indy will avoid an upset and go to the Super Bowl. Final score: Indy 28 New York 10.

Now for the NFC!

Saints vs. Vikings: This will be a tough one! Drew Brees (and his awesome pre-game chants) got his team here by beating the Arizona Cardinals 45-14. Meanwhile, Brett Favre got Minnesota to the conference round by booting the Dallas Cowboys out of the playoffs by a score of 34-3.

I had tagged the Vikings as my pick at the beginning of the year to make it to the big dance, and they're pretty close now. However, the Saints don't seem to want to comply with my prediction. As good as I think the Saints are, I have to take the Vikings in this one. Final score: Minnesota 34 New Orleans 30.

Well, that's all from me this week.

See you on the gridiron!
