As the NFL season winds down, each game becomes more and more important. This weekend was full of exciting action, with lots of close games and some gusty coaching decisions. Did your team take a step in the right direction?

Buccaneers Vs. Saints
TAMPA BAY (8-4) vs. NEW ORLEANS (5-7)
It was close game right to the last second. The Saints held a 3-point lead late in the 4th quarter, but a Devery Henderson fumble gave the Buccaneers a chance to win. The Bucs drove all the way down the field and scored giving them the win over the Saints, 27-23.
STAND-OUT PLAYERS:

Buccaneers: QB Luke McCown completed 29 of 37 passes for 313 yards and 2 TDs. He also threw 1 interception.

RB Ernest Graham rushed for 106 yards and 1 TD and added 37 yards receiving.

WR Joey Galloway racked up 159 yards receiving.

Saints: QB Drew Brees completed 17 of 23 passes for 179 yards and 2 TDs.

RB Reggie Bush rushed for 64 yards and gained 13 yards receiving.

WR Devery Henderson pulled in 45 yards receiving and 1 TD.


PICK SIX

Saints CB Mike McKenzie intercepted a Luke McCown pass late in the 3rd quarter and returned it for a TD to put the Saints up, 21-20.


BIG D

Saints DE Will Smith sacked Luke McCown in the end zone for a safety with 3:44 left in the game to put the Saints up 23-20.


GUTSY GRUDEN

Bucs Coach Jon Gruden decided not to kick a game-tying field goal on 4th down and converted for a 1st down. This lead to the Bucs scoring the game-winning TD with 17 seconds left.

Giants Vs. Bears
NEW YORK (8-4) vs. CHICAGO (5-7)
The Bears were in control of this game for 3 quarters and held a 9-point lead going into the 4th. The Giants rallied in the 4th quarter to score 14 points and shut out the Bears and win the game, 21-16.

STAND-OUT PLAYERS:

Giants: QB Eli Manning completed 16 of 27 passes for 195 yards and 1 TD. He also threw 2 interceptions.

RB Derrick Ward rushed 154 yards and 1 TD and added 29 yards receiving.

WR Amani Toomer grabbed 69 yards receiving and one TD.

Bears: QB Rex Grossman completed 25 of 46 passes for 296 yards and 1 TD.

RB Adrian Peterson rushed for 67 yards and racked up 82 yards receiving.

TE Desmond Clark pulled in 76 yards receiving and 1 TD.


OFF DAY

Eli Manning was held to just 54 passing yards in the 1st half.


BEAR 'D'

Adewale Ogunleye forced 2 fumbles, both by Derrick Ward. He has now forced 5 fumbles in the last 4 games.


ONE LAST CHANCE

After the Giants took a 21-16 led with 1:33 left, the Bears drove to the Giants 28-yard line, but failed to score.

Jaguars Vs. Colts
JACKSONVILLE (8-4) vs. INDIANAPOLIS (10-2)
The Colts looked like they would run away with this game early. They held a 21-7 lead at the half, but the Jaguars would not go quietly and mounted a comeback. The Jaguars scored 18 points in the 2nd half, but the Colts held on to win the game, 28-25.
STAND-OUT PLAYERS:

Jaguars: QB David Garrard completed 24 of 29 passes for 257 yards and 2 TDs. He also threw his first interception of the season.

RB Fred Taylor rushed for 104 yards and RB Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 52 yards and 1 TD.

Colts: QB Peyton Manning completed 20 of 29 passes for 288 yards and 4 TDs. He also threw 1 interception.

WR Reggie Wayne racked up 158 yards receiving with 1 TD.

TE Dallas Clark pulled in 60 yards receiving and 2 TDs.


COSTLY MISTAKES

The Jaguars committed 8 penalties that cost them a total of 64 yards.


STREAK BROKEN

QB David Garrard threw his first interception of the season in 231 pass attempts.


DECISION TIME

The Jaguars coach, Jack Del Rio decided not to kick an on-side kick with 2:47 remaining after the Jaguars scored. The Colts were able to run out the clock for the win.

Bills Vs. Redskins
BUFFALO (6-6) vs. WASHINGTON (5-7)
It was an emotional day in Washington that began with a pregame tribute to Sean Taylor. The Bills and Redskins had trouble getting into the end zone all game, as only 1 TD was scored. The scored stayed close all the way to the end, when the Bills kicked a game-winning field goal to win, 17-16.

STAND-OUT PLAYERS:

Bills: QB Trent Edwards completed 22 of 36 passes for 257 yards.

RB Fred Jackson rushed for 82 yards and added 69 yards receiving.

WR Josh Reed pulled in 67 yards receiving.

Redskins: QB Jason Campbell completed 21 of 37 passes for 216 yards, with 1 interception.

RB Clinton Portis rushed for 50 yards and 1 TD. He also had 10 yards receiving.

TE Chris Cooley racked up 89 yards receiving.

DE Larry Triplett had 3 tackles, 1 interception and 1 forced fumble.


GAME WINNER

The Bills stopped Clinton Portis on 3rd down and forced a punt with 1:06 to play. They then drove down the field to set up kicker Rian Lindell for the 36-yard game-winning field goal.


TRIBUTE

The Redskins started the game with just 10 defensive players in honor of Sean Taylor.

Seahawks Vs. Eagles
SEATTLE (8-4) VS. PHILADELPHIA (5-7)
The game went back and forth, but the Eagles 4 turnovers made all the difference, giving the Seahawks the 28-24 win. This is the Seahawks’ 4th consecutive win and they lead the NFC West division by 2 games.
STAND-OUT PLAYERS:

Seahawks: QB Matt Hasselbeck completed 19 of 34 passes for 187 yards and 2 TDs. He also threw 1 interception.

RB Shaun Alexander rushed for 65 yards with 1 TD.

WR Nate Burleson grabbed 71 yards receiving with 1 TD.

LB Lofa Tatupu had 11 tackles and 3 interceptions.

Eagles: QB A.J. Feely completed 19 of 42 passes for 220 yards and 1 TD. He also threw 4 costly interceptions.

RB Brian Westbrook rushed for 93 yards and 1 TD and racked up 46 receiving yards.

WR Kevin Curtis pulled in 111 yards and 1 TD.


TOUGH DAY

A.J. Feely threw 4 interceptions, including a pick on the Seahawks’ 4-yard line with 23 seconds left. This was the second game in a row that Feely threw an interception at the end as the Eagles were poised to score and win.


COSTLY DECISION

The Eagles decided not to kick a field goal in the closing seconds of the 1st half and instead failed on a 4th down conversion.
