He was called "Count Dracula in Cleats"
In my opinion the Steelers most talented player was linebacker Jack Lambert. He was called "Count Dracula in Cleats" by his teammates because of his four missing upper teeth (due to an elbow to the mouth in a basketball game). He started as a second round Draft pick in 1974. He was a part of the Steelers first four Super Bowls in the 1970s.

Overall he recorded 28 career interceptions, 1,479 tackles (which 1,045 were solo) and 23 sacks. In 1984 Lambert was sidelined due to a case of turf toe which led him to retire. His number, 58, was unofficially retired by the team because the Steelers do not officially retire numbers. Lambert earned a ton of honors, including NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1974. He was also named the toughest football player of all time by Fox Sports Net in 2004. Lambert was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
