“Just work hard, continue working. I've dreamed about it as a kid, and a lot of guys dream about it, and if you can work at it and keep going and never stop, you can accomplish anything you think about or dream about.” —Michael Brockers
I want to share a very exciting experience that I had recently. I was able to attend the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft last Thursday night. It was held at Radio City Music Hall in its large theater hall. There were many people there including NFL players, prospective draft picks, reporters, coaches, and celebrities.
I had to rush home from school, do my homework quickly, eat dinner, and then I arrived in New York City at 6:30 p.m. Julia from the NFL met me and brought me my press credentials. Then I took a look around Radio City Music Hall.
I also got to meet some very interesting people including the head of marketing for the NFL. I got to see Chris Berman from Monday Night Football and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Once the Draft got underway, I went downstairs to the press room, where I took a spot right near the front. In the press room, there were lots of reporters for newspapers, television stations, radio stations and sports news websites. I got the chance to interview many of the players right after they were selected by their NFL teams. Wow was this amazing!
As an NFL Rush Kid Reporter, I got to go to the press room and interview the players as they were picked by each team. This was the best part. I got to interview some of the top Draft picks including Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Michael Brockers and Quinton Coples. Check out my next article to see some of my interview questions and the player's answers!
