ELI MANNING
Congratulations to QB Eli Manning on his MVP performance!
Patriots Vs. Giants
NEW ENGLAND 14 vs. NEW YORK 17

The Patriots were on the brink of history, looking for their 19th win in a row and a Super Bowl Championship. The Giants were big underdogs, but they had won 10 straight road games and as fate would have it, they were the road team yet again.

The Giants started the game off with a long drive that ate up 9:59 off the clock and gave the Giants a field goal. The Patriots took their first drive down the field, but were faced with a 3rd-and-10 on the Giants 17-yard line. The Giants committed a penalty that gave the Patriots the ball at the 1-yard line. The 1st quarter ended after a Super Bowl record low of only 2 possessions in the quarter. At the start of the 2nd quarter, the Patriots had no trouble punching it in for a TD and the Patriots led 7-3. It was a defensive battle through the rest of the quarter and no one would score the rest of the half. In the 3rd quarter, the defensive battle continued and again, no points were scored.

In the 4th quarter, Eli Manning took control and drove his team down for a TD on their first drive. The Giants led 10-7. The Patriots would strike back late, scoring a TD with just 2:42 left in the game. The Giants started at their own 17-yard line and needed to go 83 yards down the field to get the win. They started out good with a 10-yard pass and a 1st down, but soon found themselves at 4th-and-1. With the game on the line, RB Brandon Jacobs crashed forward for the 1st down. The Giants would convert 2 more 3rd downs to get them to the Patriots 13-yard line. Eli Manning found WR Plaxico Burress open in the endzone for the go ahead TD and the Giants led 17-14 with 35 seconds left in the game. The Giants defense held strong and sacked Tom Brady and left the Patriots with a last shot with 10 seconds left. The Giants knocked down the last Tom Brady pass of the season to secure the victory and pull off the huge upset. Eli Manning was awarded the MVP award for his outstanding performance.

Congratulations to the New York Giants, the Super Bowl XLII Champions!
