Hey everybody! Week 1 is over and it definitely was a great week. From the 49ers upsetting the Cardinals to Drew Brees passing for 6 touchdowns, the week was full of exciting plays.
I think the most exciting play was in the Broncos- Bengals game. The Broncos were up 6-0 with less than six minutes left when Bengals running back Cedric Benson scored a touchdown to put the Bengals up 1 with the extra point. Then the Broncos got the ball with thirty seconds left when Kyle Orton threw a pass downfield to receiver Brandon Marshall. The Bengals secondary crowded around Marshall and one defender soared high in the air and tipped the ball. Brandon Stokley caught the batted ball for the Broncos and ran 87 yards for a Touchdown. The smart side of this play was when Stokley got near the end zone, he ran across the field to take as much time off the clock as he can. The game ended with Carson Palmer throwing a bomb downfield which the Broncos Tony Scheffler intercepted. It just so happened I started Scheffler on my fantasy team last week. He came in on defense for the special hands team on that play and made the interception.
For your fantasy quarterback this week I would recommend Kurt Warner. Yes, I know Drew Brees threw 6 touchdowns last week. But you cant expect him to do that every game. Warner, on the other hand, didn't have the best week last week, and I expect him to throw some touchdowns to Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.
For your Running Back, pick Brian Westbrook. Donovan McNabb could be out with a broken rib so either backup Kevin Kolb or Jeff Garcia will start in McNabb's place. With a backup QB starting, the Eagles will go to the ground more, meaning more fantasy points for Westbrook.
For Wide Receiver, you should pick Calvin Johnson. Johnson was dominated by the Saints last week and is playing a tougher defense against the Vikings this week, but he has the ability to dominate any defense so he should be able to get free downfield and score some touchdowns.
Good Luck on your fantasy picks!
