After 13 years with the Denver Broncos, one of the game’s top wide receivers is calling it quits. Rod Smith announced his retirement on Thursday. He had been battling injuries and could not play last season, but before that Rod had an exceptional career.
Rod holds the Broncos franchise records for career receptions (849), yards receiving (11,389), touchdown catches (68), touchdowns (71) and 100-yard games (31). This is even more impressive when you consider that he was not drafted out of college. He made 3 Pro Bowls in his career and was a part of the Super Bowl XXXII and Super Bowl XXXIII championship squads. Congratulations, Rod Smith, on a great career!
