There were a few teams that were left in the dust last year, like the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. But this year, some of those teams might be able to make the playoffs. Despite being in a tough division, the team that I think is going to stand out the most this year is the Detroit Lions. However, I think that if they make the playoffs, it will be as a wild card spot because the Packers are a great team that I think will win the division.
There are a few reasons why I think that this will happen. With the addition of Reggie Bush, I think that Matthew Stafford will play even better than last year. Reggie Bush is a talented running back and has played well the past few years with the Dolphins. The Lions didn't have a good running game last year, so they could really use him. Some of the Lions' free agents decided to stay with the team and that helps the defensive side of the ball. On special teams, they signed a good veteran kicker in David Akers. Jason Hanson wasn't bad, but Akers is a little better when the game is on the line.
Those are some of the reasons why I think the Detroit Lions will improve this year and could make the playoffs.
