I think the best available free agent on the market is Brian Westbrook. Westbrook use to be a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles before getting released by the team after the 2009-2010 season. I think the main cause for Westbrook's release was injuries, but if Westbrook can stay healthy he can contribute greatly to a team in the run and pass game. Even with the injuries last season, Westbrook managed to have 274 rushing yards and 181 receiving yards in eight games. Westbrook is also a veteran and could add leadership to a team.

 

Another running back who is still available on the free agency market is Ladell Betts. Betts is a former running back for the Washington Redskins. Betts had 210 rushing yards and 179 receiving yards last year. I think Betts could definitely contribute to a team as a back-up.
