My pick for the AFC Champion is the New York Jets. The Jets are 4-1 and are on top of the AFC East. They have beaten all of the AFC East teams including the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins. The Jets only loss came in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, in which they lost 10-9. Since then, the Jets have been playing great, winning 4 straight games.

The Jets offense has also improved since last year. Second year QB Mark Sanchez has been great finding TE Dustin Keller and WR Braylon Edwards open for touchdowns. RB LaDainian Tomlinson has also proved that he still has something left in him. Tomlinson is fifth in the NFL in rushing with 435 yards on 76 carries and has 3 TDs.

To back up the Jets offense, they also have an excellent defense. The Jets defense is mainly led by shutdown CB Darrelle Revis who had 6 interceptions and 31 pass deflections last year. Revis has not been able to play as much because of an injury, so CBs Antonio Cromartie and rookie Kyle Wilson are going to need to step it up. The Jets also have great linebackers in Bart Scott and David Harris, and NFL veteran, outside linebacker Jason Taylor. The Jets defensive line is led by DT Shaun Ellis who has 3.5 sacks so far this season. I think the Jets, with their great defense, can already make it far in the playoffs. Now with their offense, I think they can be AFC Champions.
