ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOOTTTBAAALLL?!?
The NFL Preseason Games kicked off with the Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans playing in Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The Titans started the game with an early lead and finished with a 21-18 win over the Bills.
Kerry Collins felt like he was already picking up from where he was last season in leading Tennessee to the playoffs. Collins went 7-of-10 for 82 yards in producing two touchdown drives. Sunday also marked Terrell Owens’s debut for the Buffalo Bills. Though he was only on the field for one series, he had two catches for 27 yards. T.O. knows the Bills have a lot of work to do, but he is confident and comfortable with the Bills offense.
The game was part of the NFL celebrating the 50th anniversary of the American Football League. The newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame are: Bob Hayes, Randall McDaniel, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas, Ralph Wilson and Rod Woodson. The Titans, who moved from Houston, wore Oilers’ retro uniforms. The Bills wore their retro uniforms, which had the red standing buffalo logo on their helmets. And even the officials dressed for the occasion, wearing retro AFL red-and-white striped shirts.
Play of the Game
In a fourth down play in the first quarter, Titans rookie punter A.J. Trapasso turned a fake punt into a 40-yard run by to put the season’s first touchdown on the scoreboard.
