What a week of football! The new Dallas Stadium is up and rocking (setting the NFL regular season attendance record) and there were some very close games as well. My favorite game of the week was the Ravens vs. Chargers. San Diego came very close to beating a tough Baltimore team. Philip Rivers threw for a career high 436 yards and still lost! San Diego's last drive happened like this: The Chargers had the ball and were down 31-26 with 2:48 left to play. They drive down to inside the Ravens thirty, but the dependable Baltimore defense comes through, holding San Diego short of the first down. The last tackle was made by Ray Lewis five yards in the backfield as he came untouched through the Charger O-line and cracked Darren Sproles just as he got the handoff.
Now for my fantasy hot picks:
QB: Matt Schaub! Yes, that's right, Matt Schaub. He had a great game (throwing for 357 yards and 4 touchdowns) against a very tough Titans defense. With receivers like Steve Slaton & Andre Johnson, I don't see him slowing down.
RB: Frank Gore! He ran for 207 yards against the Seahawks and had two long carries for 79 and 80 yards, respectively. The big question now: Is San Francisco back?
WR/TE: Dallas Clark! No, I'm not biased for Colts receivers; it's just that they are very good. He had seven catches for a hundred and eighty-three yards (which, by the way, is the fourth highest single-game total for a tight end in NFL history!). Indy doesn't seem to be feeling the loss of Marvin Harrison too much, as they are 2-0 so far.
