Jim Brown is considered by many as the best football player ever and one of the greatest professional athletes in history.  How's that for hype???

During his nine years (1957-1965) as running back for the Cleveland Browns, Brown led the NFL in rushing eight times.  He was an All-Pro every season and set  records for single-season rushing (1,863), career rushing (12,312 yards), total touchdowns (126), and all-purpose yards (15,549).

Brown was also the first player ever to rush for 100 touchdowns.

That's called living up to the hype.

Jim Brown was so good that when he started, the team was called the Cleveland Oranges and they changed the name to the Browns because Jim was so awesome (ok we're just kidding on that one!).

Jim Brown was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame in 1971.
