The Ravens and the 49ers were elite defenses this season and even this Sunday played a great game. But when it came down to it, the Patriots and the Giants relied on their star QBs to push them to victory. For the Patriots, Tom Brady had an unimpressive game until he scored the game-winning TD in the 4th quarter.
The Giants saw Eli Manning pass for 316 yards with 2 TDs and no interceptions against the 49ers defense that was ranked fourth during the regular season. In the end the teams with top QBs are headed to the Super Bowl while two of the best defense in the NFL couldn't get their teams over the hump.
