Summertime is when there are more fruits to choose and eat.  The farmer's markets and the grocery stores are stocked with watermelon, strawberries, and cantaloupes.  It is a great time to try to eat the 3-4 servings of fruit that are recommended daily. When training camp starts for the Ravens, half of the salad bar is fresh fruit like pineapple, grapes, and honeydew melon.

It is important to eat fresh fruit instead of juice or fruit snacks. Fresh fruit has more vitamins and minerals than a juice drink or fruit roll up.  Eating fruit will also give you some fiber which helps digestion.  Here is a list of the fruit slams or fruit shams that we are able to buy in the grocery store.
