If I could play a position in the NFL, it would be general manager of a team.
My football skills on the field are lacking, making me someone who would not be a very good player. However, my leadership skills and football knowledge would make me a good director. I would prefer to not be a coach because I am not the best at play calling, but I would definitely like to socialize with all of our coaches and coordinators to get their perspectives on the shape of our team. Other traits that general managers require are signing contracts in the offseason, making good decisions during the draft, directing free agency and making trades.
I believe if I got the opportunity and had the time, I could shape a bad team into a playoff contender. A large part of that is making sure all fans, coaches and players are satisfied with the team and their payment. Investments in the quality of several things involving performance, such as our stadium, football gear, and practice fields should always be in the mind of an NFL manager.
In my opinion, if I had the chance to lead a team under my standards, my skill would make me perfect for the job.
