Team USA faces Mexico

In the second round of the tournament, Team USA faced Mexico, who had previously beaten Sweden 41-0. It was another huge victory for the U.S., who kept Mexico scoreless for the entire game, ending with a score of 55-0. With 41 points in the first half and 14 points in the second half, it’s no wonder that Team USA went on to the Gold Medal Game. More than 11,000 people watched key players like quarterback Bryce Petty (Baylor), running back David Wilson (Virginia Tech) and safety Corey Lillard (University of Virginia). Petty threw six complete passes and had no interceptions; Wilson lead the offense by scoring three touchdowns and gaining 146 yards on 11 carries; and Lillard lead the defense with four tackles.
