After an unremarkable preseason, rookie QB Geno Smith had a pretty remarkable debut by leading the New York Jets to a thrilling 18-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It appeared that Tampa Bay had the game put away after Josh Freeman led the Buccaneers to a Rian Lindell FG with just 37 seconds left on the clock. As it turned out that was plenty of time.  Geno displayed poise beyond his years in leading the Jets to a 48-yard game winning FG by Nick Folk.
