It’s never too early to prepare for the upcoming NFL season––especially when deciding which players to select for your first week lineup. Today, we take a look at the WR position, and what better player to start with than Detroit Lions superstar Calvin “Megatron” Johnson?

Last season, he broke Hall-of-Famer Jerry Rice's single-season receiving record, with an amazing 122 receptions for 1,984 yards. Both of these stats help make the case for him being the top WR choice for this year’s Fantasy season.

There’s only one issue with this suggestion. For some strange reason, he caught lots of passes for tons of yards but he only caught five touchdowns! That’s obviously way too low of a TD total to feel comfortable starting him every week.

With the improvements on the line and the addition of RB Reggie Bush, we feel pretty certain that he will see a dramatic rise in the number of TDs this season. Which is why we are making Calvin Johnson our preseason #1 rated WR.
