Day One
Monday was my first day of Detroit Lions Youth Football Camp. I was totally pumped!
We met all of the coaches and then spilt up into groups and began warm-ups. We learned how to play the positions on the field. We then spilt into stations. I couldn’t believe my first station.
I started at the wide receiver station where Eric Fowler, #18, Wide Receiver for the Lions was waiting for us. It was so amazing to meet an NFL player in person. He is a phenomenal guy! We did several wide receiver drills but my favorite was with Eric. We would start in our wide receiver position, then a coach would yell “hike” and we would do the swim move to try to get past Eric while the coach threw a pass to us. It was fun trying to run a route around Eric and catch a pass!
We also did offensive linemen, running back and quarterback drills. I loved using the practice dummies!
Next to meeting professional football player Eric Fowler, my favorite part of the day was our scrimmage. I scored a touchdown in the final seconds to tie the game. I had a great day at the Detroit Lions Youth Football Camp and can’t wait for tomorrow.
