On Sunday there were plenty of good games, but I want to talk about the AFC West showdown of the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Denver Broncos. Even though the Chiefs didn't have a loss yet, it wasn't a surprise to me that the Broncos beat them. The Broncos have an amazing offense with stars like Peyton Manning, Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Knowshon Moreno, and Eric Decker. They also have a pretty good defense, with Champ Bailey, Von Miller, Dominique Rodger-Cromartie, and Wesley Woodyard.
The Chiefs, on the other, don't have as many stars on offense. They only have Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe. Alex Smith is good, but not a star. They do have a really good defense, with stars like Tamba Hali, Brandon Flowers, Dontari Poe, Derrick Johnson, Tyson Jackson, Sean Smith and Eric Berry. That's a lot of stars, but they couldn't do enough to stop Peyton Manning and his high level offense.
The next time the Chiefs and the Broncos meet, I think the Broncos will show even more fire power and dominate the Chiefs, even though the Chiefs will be at home. I think the score will be 34-20. The Denver Broncos are the better team overall. The Chiefs offense is just not good enough. Like I said in my article last week, I think both teams will get to the playoffs. The Broncos grabbing the AFC West Division, and the Chiefs will grab the top wild card spot.
I think things are set in the AFC West.
