Dallas Cowboy Training Camp –– Oxnard, CA

The Dallas Cowboys opened training camp a bit earlier than most other teams in order to get ready for this week’s Pro Football Hall of Fame game against Miami.

Among the first week notes were:

WR Dez Bryant was singled out for praise by several coaches and players.   Former Cowboy great Michael Irvin was especially impressed by Bryant’s improving maturity.

Having signed a new long-term contract extension, QB Tony Romo continues to be one of the most important leaders on the team.

New coordinator Monte Kiffin liked what he saw out of the defensive team.

The early sleeper of the camp is S Barry Church. He’s been making plays all over the field.

First round pick C Travis Frederick has been picking up the offense very well.
