The Washington Redskins thwarted a two-point conversion attempt on the last play of the game, and held off the Cleveland Browns, 24-23.

In a match-up that was billed as Robert Griffin III versus rookie sensation Johnny Manziel, it was Redskins back-up QB Kirk Cousins who put up the night's best numbers. Cousins completed 12 of 21 passes for 145 yards and a TD while Griffin also looked sharp, completing 6 of 8 for 112 yards and rushing for 24 yards.

Manziel had an up-and-down performance and Brian Hoyer struggled to move the team. In a lesson of always be ready for your opportunity, less heralded rookie QB Connor Shaw completed 8 of 9 passes for 145 yards and engineered the Browns near comeback late in the fourth quarter.
