Your coaches spend time teaching you the game of football, but who teaches them? On July 25-26, as part of the Hall of Fame Weekend in Canton, Ohio, 171 high school and youth football coaches from around the country had the chance to be taught by great NFL coaches and players. That's right, the NFL coached your coach on how to be a better coach for you! This two-day Youth Football Summit was attended by one NFL-selected high school coach from every state and Washington D.C., as well as 120 other local youth coaches and supporters from all over the US.
These lucky coaches heard from such football experts as former quarterback Boomer Esiason. Boomer, and other NFL authorities, talked about everything from players' character development on and off the field to game strategies and avoiding injuries. Doctors who work with the NFL spoke to the high school and youth coaches about methods and game plans for kid footballers to stay healthy, the dangers of taking steroids and how to instruct their players - like you - about these important subjects. The Youth Football Summit was an awesome opportunity for all coaches. If your coach wants to find out some more information about this program and future programs, please tell him to check out www.nflhs.com.
