With their first pick the Carolina Panthers addressed their most pressing need: wide receiver. Kelvin Benjamin is a physical specimen with elite jump-ball prowess who gives Cam Newton an intriguing new weapon.

While the defensive line wasn’t a huge need for the Panthers, DT/DE Kony Ealy was too good to pass up in the second round.

The Panthers waited until the third round to address the offensive line, when they grabbed G Trai Turner. He is a mauler who perfectly fits the Panthers power offense. S Tre Boston will help in the defensive backfield, and RB Tyler Gaffney fits the Panthers power prototype.
