This how I think how the important teams of the NFL will do this year in my opinion:
With the addition of first round draft pick Aaron Curry, Edgerrin James, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh I beleieve that the Seahwks will be able to pull off a winning season this year. I beleive they'll go 9-7 this season. Since the injury bug caught so many of the Seahawk players last season, they have now had a chance to get back into shape including Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who I predict will have a great season this year. I also look forward to seeing an improved Tight End in John Carlson who I also believe will have a great season this year being a great offensive weapon next to T.J. Houshmandzadeh. The other question is the running game with Julius Jones, but that changed when the Seahawks singed the NFL's active leading rusher, Edgerrin James who will definetly help the running game.
Next, I have my NFC and AFC predictions for the Super Bowl which are the Minnesota Vikings and the New England Patriots. I would've picked the Giants, but when Brett Favre came out of retirement that helped the Vikings with their QB situation as he will now be their starter. He also has great offensive talent aound him in Adrian Peterson. He has good Wide Receivers in Bernard Berrian and rookie Percy Harvin as well. Finally, the defense includes DE Jared Allen and Antoine Winfield at Cornerback.
The Patriots are the team of the AFC that will make it to the Super Bowl and will win it as long as Tom Brady stays healthy. They've improved too by adding RB Fred Taylor who will help with their running game. Finally, with Wide Receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker, they give Tom Brady good targets. If things go well the Patriots will the Super Bowl.
Lastly, I have my surprise teams from the AFC and NFC that will make the playoffs this season: the Buffalo Bills from the AFC and the Seattle Seahawks from the NFC.
With the addition of Terrell Owens to the Buffalo Bills he will give another target to help Quarterback Trent Edwards. Runningback Marshawn Lynch will also help Trent Edwards with the offense this year. I think Trent Edwards is on the verge of a breakout season. I also think that star Linebacker Paul Posluszny will be very effective to help the Bills.
For the NFC I've chosen the Seahawks even after a disapointing 2008 season. Like I've said before with new additions Aaron Curry, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Edgerrin James they will help Seattle a lot. If the Seahawks stay healthy, they should make the playoffs.
This is how I beleive this NFL season will pan out.
