My favorite retired NFL player is Bart Starr.
Bart Starr played for the Green Bay Packers from 1956-1971. He led the Packers to five NFL championships and two Super Bowls!! He was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, named the MVP of the first two Super Bowls, and was selected to the Hall of Fame in 1977. You may know him from the Ice Bowl, when he did a quarterback sneak to win the game.
As great as Bart Starr was on the field, he was and still is just as good off the field. After winning a Corvette for being named the Most Valuable Player from Super Bowl II, he and his wife raffled it off to help finance the Rawhide Boys Ranch, which is a place that helps boys in trouble.
The NFL even named an award after him called the Bart Starr Award!! The award is given out every year to the NFL player who shows the best character on the field, in the home, and in the community.
A fun fact you may not know is that Bart's real name is Bryan Bartlett Starr.
Give me a shout with who your favorite retired player is??
Thanks for reading and don't forget to Back-the-Pack!!!!!
