I chose Drew Brees from the Saints to be my QB, because he had a total of 34 TD passes. It was a league high. He only had 17 interceptions, and his QB rating was 96.2.
Adrian Peterson of the Vikings is my Fantasy RB because, he led the league in rush yards with 1,760. He also had the best average for rush yards per game with 110.
With the return of Tom Brady I chose Randy Moss as my WR because, in 2007 he had 27 TD receptions. Since Brady was injured last year Randy’s stats dropped in 08’.
My tight end is Tony Gonzalez because last year with the Chiefs he had 10 TD’s with an average QB. This year he’s with the Falcons and Matt Ryan, a Pro Bowl caliber QB. His stats should be a lot better this year.
For defense and special teams I chose the Baltimore Ravens. They led the league in forced turnovers with 34 and took 6 back for TDs. They only allowed an average of 15.2 points per game, 2nd best in the NFL.
My wild card player is RB Maurice Jones-Drew, not because he had 12 TDs in 08’, but because he is a red zone threat. 11 of his 12 TDs were in the red zone. With RB Fred Taylor leaving Jacksonville for New England, Jones–Drew will get a lot more carries, and a lot more TDs.
