Going into Week 5 there were three undefeated teams. Going into the weekend there are now only two as Arizona fell to St. Louis 17-3. That leaves the Falcons and the Texans as the remaining undefeated teams.
This week Atlanta faced Washington and Houston travels to play the Jets. I believe both of these teams will remain undefeated.
Last week the Falcons had a scare against the Carolina Panthers. They had to mount a 99 yard drive with 56 seconds to go and no time outs. Matt Ryan led the team down field getting in position to allow Matt Bryant to kick the game-winning field goal. This week they faced a tough challenge against the Redskins. The Falcons' 29th ranked run defense did well against the Redskins, who were ranked #2 in rushing. However, Matt Ryan and his powerful weapons of Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez and Michael Turner got the job done.
Houston faces the Jets on Monday night. Coming off a 34-0 loss to the 49ers, and having lost two of their best players, Derrel Revis and Santonio Holmes, for the season, the Jets are in long-term trouble. Matt Schaub and the offense should be just fine against Rex Ryan's Jet defense. The Oilers defense led by J.J. Watt should give Mark Sanchez another struggle this week.
