USC quarterback Matt Barkley is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL Draft and he is projected to be drafted in the early 2nd round. The question is will he be worth it? There are negatives to Barkley's game. The first is his injury in the game against UCLA, which prevented him from throwing at the NFL Combine. Another negative is that many of the past USC quarterbacks have underperformed in the NFL. For example, Mark Sanchez and Matt Leinart have not lived up to their expectations, so even though they may have looked good in college, it doesn't mean they will be a Tom Brady in the NFL.
Barkley finished the 2012 college season with 36 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a completion percentage of 63.6%. My opinion is that Matt Barkley is a risky pick, but he will be worth it. Teams that I think will consider him are the Arizona Cardinals, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the NY Jets. But, I think Barkley will go in the early 2nd round to the Cardinals.
