In a hard-fought battle on a cold rainy day, the Seattle Seahawks beat the New Orleans Saints 23-15.
With passing difficult due to the weather, the Seahawks needed RB Marshawn Lynch to go Beast Mode...and boy did he deliver. Lynch carried the ball 28 times for 140 yards, including a bruising 15-yard touchdown and a dazzling 31-yard touchdown to ice the game.
The Seahawks defense was the other big story, shutting out QB Drew Brees and the high-flying Saints offense for over 3 quarters. Most incredible, the Seahawks defense prevented Saints superstar TE Jimmy Graham from making a catch until the last minute of the game!
The Saints rallied in the 4th quarter, scoring two TDs and getting an onside kick, but could not pull off the miracle comeback.
With the win, the Seahawks advance to the NFC Championship game next Sunday against the winner of tomorrow's 49ers - Panthers contest.
