Last week was one of the most exciting weeks this season and Week 14 looks even better. It's getting crazy with teams fighting for the final spots in the playoffs. There are several teams on upset-alert and they better watch out. Here's the Week 14 preview:
CHICAGO (5-7) vs. WASHINGTON (5-7)
(NFLN, Thursday, 8:00 PM EST):
The Bears have had a rough season so far and so have the Redskins. The Redskins and Bears are fighting for a Wild Card spot in the playoffs and they are both 1 game out. Both teams are coming off heartbreaking losses last week. The Bears RB Adrian Peterson has been doing well in place of injured RB Cedric Benson and will be a major player in this contest. On the Redskins side, RB Clinton Portis has been the star with the passing game stalling. Who will move one step closer in the playoff hunt?
NEW YORK (8-4) vs. PHILADELPHIA (5-7)
(FOX, Sunday, 1:00 PM EST):
The Giants have been looking sluggish over their past 2 games and had to comeback hard last week to squeak out a win. Giants RB Derrick Ward is out for the season, so the Giants will have to rely on Reuben Droughns and Brandon Jacobs to get it done on the ground. QB Eli Manning will have to pull it together and get out of his slump. The Eagles are coming off a close loss, but RB Brian Westbrook has been sensational throughout the entire season. The Eagles need to minimize their turnovers and let Westbrook work his magic. Tune in to see if the Eagles can upset the Giants.
PITTSBURGH (9-3) vs. NEW ENGLAND (12-0)
(CBS, Sunday, 4:15 PM EST):
This is the big match-up of the week – the high-powered offense of the Patriots goes against the best defense in the NFL, the Steelers. The Steelers defense will be all over Randy Moss and Tom Brady will need to watch out for hard-hitting blitzes. With QB Ben Roethlisberger and RB Willie Parker on offense, the Steelers may be the best team that the Patriots will face the rest of the season. Will the Patriots extend their undefeated streak or will the Steelers “D” be too much?
INDIANAPOLIS (10-2) vs. BALTIMORE (4-8)
(NBC, Sunday, 8:15 PM EST):
The Colts are doing well and QB Peyton Manning is playing great, but the Ravens are coming off an amazing effort and near upset of the undefeated Patriots. If the Ravens can click like they did last week, the Colts will need to watch out. Tune in to see how Peyton Manning deals with the tenacious Ravens.
NEW ORLEANS (5-7) vs. ATLANTA (3-9)
(ESPN, Monday, 8:30 PM EST):
The Saints are hanging onto their playoff hopes, but need to get a win to have a chance. The Falcons have had a forgettable season and will now play the role as the spoiler. The Saints let a win slip through their hands last week and can’t afford another mistake like that. RB Reggie Bush and QB Drew Brees need to take over and keep scoring. Can the Falcons spoil the Saints’ playoff hopes?
