Two AFC West rivals will battle in Denver, as the electrified San Diego Chargers look to short circuit the Denver Broncos hard line to the Super Bowl.
The Broncos (13-3) are the AFC’s number one seed and the heavy favorite in this game. They’re 7-1 at home this season but guess who it was that beat them at home? You got it, the San Diego Chargers! They were heavy underdogs in that game too!
But let’s face it, these are the playoffs and Denver has been a powerhouse this season. The combination of WRs Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker and TE Julius Thomas might be the best collection of weapons QB Peyton Manning has ever had in his career.
The Chargers (9-7),come into this game after winning their last four regular-season games to sneak into the playoffs. They stayed red hot on a very cold field in Cincinnati with a 27-10 victory over the Bengals in the Wildcard last weekend.
QB Philip Rivers is the key to the Chargers chances and clearly he likes to play in Denver! He has posted a 99.1 quarterback rating, going 6-2 all-time in Denver. Will Sunday make it 7-2 all-time for Rivers?
If they have a shot at pulling this upset they’ll need big games from RBs Ryan Matthews and Danny Woodhead, as well as continued success from TE Antoino Gates and Rookie Of The Year candidate WR Keenan Allen.
Don't miss the action this Sunday at 4:40 PM on CBS!
