Throwback Thursday - Dan Fouts

You probably know Dan Fouts from watching him broadcast NFL games on CBS, but did you know he was one of greatest quarterbacks in NFL history?

Dan Fouts was the centerpiece of the Chargers innovative deep passing offense developed by their head coach Don Coryell. It was such a sensation that it got the name "Air Coryell."

Fouts led the NFL in passing yards four straight years from 1979 to 1982, and became the first player in history to throw for over 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons.

Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh said, "Dan Fouts had a cool, steel-like nerve and courage."

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.

What was Dan Fouts greatest career achievement?

aaah one of the most prolifc passers in nfl history just racking up 4, 000+ passing yards with the Air coryell offense and that was during the late 1970's and early to mid 1980's which the nfl was more of a balanced approach on offense which in that time was mind boggling.
