Super Bowl XLIX: Through the Eyes of a Super Fan

There were two minutes left in Super Bowl XLIX! My team, the New England Patriots, was winning by four points. The Seahawks needed a touchdown to win.

I love football and I'm the biggest Patriots fan ever. I've been watching games since I was three years old.

I was pretty nervous. I've watched the Seahawks play many times and they're a great team. I saw them score in seconds during the NFC game against the Packers to tie the game and then go on to win. The Seahawks were moving steadily down the field. Russell Wilson threw a long pass. At first, I thought we broke it up. I was so happy but then I realized Jermaine Kearse made a crazy catch and now the football was on the five yard line...the five yard line!

There was about a minute left and I felt sick. I was thinking, if the Seahawks score, would we still have time to make a Hail Mary pass and still win. Marshawn Lynch was given the ball again and we kept him out of the end zone but now the ball was on the one yard line and the clock only had 40 seconds on it. I'd seen the Patriots lose in 2012, was this happening again? The next play was a quick pass and then...INTERCEPTED!!!!

Malcom Butler, a rookie, intercepted the ball. I couldn't believe it. I was screaming! I was crying! I was jumping up and down. I was still crying. I was so happy. I could hardly catch my breath. I was finally going to go to a duck boat celebration parade! The Patriots were world champions. They were awesome and I'll never forget Superbowl XLIX.

It was the best game I've ever watched.
