I think the player that will be the biggest surprise this year will be Matt Schaub. Schaub is the starting QB for the Houston Texans. Last season, Schaub led the Texans to a 9-7 record, which is the Texans first winning record in team history. Schaub had 4,770 pass yards and 396 completions in 583 attempts. Schaub also threw 29 touchdowns. Schaub was also the league leader in passing yards and he earned himself his first Pro Bowl honor. At the Pro Bowl, Schaub was named MVP.
A big part of Matt Schaub's success is his fellow Pro Bowl teammate, WR Andre Johnson, who caught 9 TDs and had 101 receptions last season. Another part of Schaub's success is TE Owen Daniels who caught 40 passes, including 5 TDs. Schaub and the Texans keep improving each year and I think that Schaub will lead the team to their first playoffs and be named to the Pro Bowl again.
