Last year the New York Giants were a mess. They started out 0-6 and missed the playoffs. They finished 19th in passing yards (but that was because Eli only had about 3 seconds to go through his reads and this led to him leading the league in ints.) And they were 29th in rushing yards. Also, they ranked 10th in opp. passing yards, but the secondary was a mess! The Giants are a smart franchise so they fixed the problem even though they lost Hakeem Nicks and Justin Tuck in the process.
The O-line: With the singings of left guard Geoff Schwartz and center JD Walton they tightened up the line. They will also be getting Will Beaty, Chris Snee, and a better Justin Pugh back. This helps because with Eli having ankle surgery you don't know how well he will be moving.
The Wide Outs and Running Backs: Last year the Giants went to 5 backs to carry the ball. They needed to find an answer and fast. They decided on power back Rashad Jennings. Last year Jennings proved himself when Darren McFadden went down for the Raiders. At wide out they got Mario Manningham back, a healthy Victor Cruz, Ruben Randle, and speedy Trindon Holliday. Hopefully the offense can get back on track.
Defense: Even though they lost Justin Tuck, this is the area where the Giants made the biggest impact. The Giants have a great defense this year with big name players like Jon Beason, Jason Pierre-Paul, Cullen Jenkins, Dominique Rodgers Cromartie, Walter Thurmond, Antrel Rolle, Quintin Demps, and Prince Amukamara.
The Giants made so many moves in Free Agency I can't wait to see what happens.
