My first takeaway this season is that the Chiefs are definitely improving under new head coach Andy Reid and new quarterback Alex Smith. They crushed the Jaguars, 28-2, in their first game of the season! That kind of a performance isn't just luck, and it also means the Chiefs defense is probably going to be pretty good this year. In Week 2, it was a lot closer, 17-16, but, again, it takes talent to hold Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, and DeMarco Murray to 16 points, while still scoring enough to win yourself.
My second takeaway is that despite being 37 years of age, Peyton Manning is as good as ever, maybe even better, because he tied a NFL record for 7 touchdowns in Week 1, with 462 yards. Already 2 weeks in, Peyton Manning has passed for 9 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and 769 yards for a 131.0 passer rating. That's impressive for 37.
