In his brief NFL career New York Jets (3-2) rookie QB Geno Smith has shown a flair for the dramatic. Tonight was no exception as he led the Jets to a thrilling 30-28 come-from-behind victory over the Atlanta Falcons (1-4).
Smith had his best game as a pro throwing for three TDs on 16-21 passing and -- most importantly -- no INTs. Though only a rookie he displayed the poise of a savvy veteran as he moved the ball into position for a 43-yard Nick Folk FG as time expired.
The Falcons failed to take advantage of multiple trips to the red zone, settling for FGs instead of TDs. Although QB Matt Ryan threw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs it was not enough to secure a victory in a game his team desperately needed to win.
