As we all know, Ray Lewis suffered an injury playing the Cowboys last week that will sideline him for the rest of the season. This is a crushing blow to the Ravens, because he is the heart and soul of the defense. A positive first-ballot Hall of Famer, he has made an impact on the NFL and I would like to share my favorite moment of his career.
I was really young at the time, and I wouldn't be able to remember it from the day of, but I've definitely watched it dozens and dozens of times by now. It was Super Bowl XXXV, the game where Lewis led his Ravens to their first Super Bowl title. He also won the MVP Award for that game, becoming the second linebacker to win the award. It was an amazing performance by Lewis and the whole Ravens defense. Their opponent, the Giants, didn't have any offensive points all game!
This is my favorite moment from Ray Lewis because that's when I believe it came true that he was going to be a player remembered for a long time in the NFL. I'm wishing him a speedy recovery and hopefully he can get back on the field next season and make more memorable moments!
